Hotel the DY is, at first glance, in a poor location. At night the nearly hotels are all lit up with amazing neon lights flashing on and off in a myriad of colours – the love hotels. But frankly, the people using them are keen to get inside as quickly as possible, leaving the tourists gawking at the amazing scenes of glitz and glitter owning the streets.
The hotel itself is great – large rooms, good fittings and lots of cupboard and bench space. As with most Korean hotels, the bed is firm, and so are the pillows.
The main bus terminal is 100 metres away, so it's easy (and cheap) catching the buses to and from the KTX station and to all of the local sights. Many local historical attractions are within walking distance, including several tomb complexes, the observatory, Anapi Pond and the museum.
The staff are helpful, and this is a great place to get your laundry done at a very reasonable cost.
Nearby are lots of cheap restaurants – as long as you don't mind a bit of local colour – and a short walk a little further gets you to an interesting area with small bars and some eclectic cafés.More
