Humungous in scale, the overall design and architecture of hotel is impressive -- mammoth! Request Ocean View and sixth floor or above -- faces the sea directly, wondrous views of black lava beach and sea. Beautifully appointed rooms, minimalist but warm, inviting. High quality linens and duvet; but down pillows provide not enough support. Deluxe toiletries -- just bring your own facial cleanser and moisturizer. Service is prompt and courteous. Wonderful pool area-- indoor and outdoor open year-round -- with great showers and toiletries. Very modern gym (Kinesis equipment, everything there except kettle bells), spotlessly clean. The hotel is very empty during weekdays, full capacity during weekends. Free airport shuttle. Free wi-fi, fast and reliable like most of Korea.
Cons: Bakery is divine (amazing pastries) but otherwise forbiddingly expensive dining -- opt for the local restaurants just 10 min. walk from the hotel entrance. Need a car to stay here-- main attractions in Seogwipo are half hour away, Jeju City is one hour away. Feels like you're staying in a big, isolated compound (which is a plus if you want to be cloistered).

Room Tip: ask for Ocean View, rooms on 6 floor or above. rooms closer to elevator (there is only set of elevators and the rooms located far from it will take you several minutes walk).

4 night stay with my family. Booked a room facing ocean side at the resort side. Previously stayed in the hotel but for a family trip, rooms are much bigger than hotel units.

Location is quite good but it really depends on the travel plan and itinery. As we have travelled to Jeju number of times previously, we were not planning to visit tourist attactions but seeking for more relaxation and rest. Nice to take short walk to beach side and really great place to spend some quality time with family.

Local supermarkets and Korean restaurants are close to the hotel. For european or international cuisine, you will have to dine at the property if not willing to drive another 20 to 25 minutes. Food quality at the hotel restaurant is quite disappointing and overpriced. Breakfast was included in the room rate and we also had lunch and dinner but it was very average and nothing special about it but you still have to pay for full hotel meal price.

Service was just okay. Had to speak to front desk agents for help as guest service agents do not speak good English.

Quite good to be in Jeju during the winter, but you still have to pay decent price if you want to stay here. Cannot see much uniqueness or differentials from other hotels but quite good for family stay. My parents loved it so that is what it matters!

Haevichi hotel is one of the places I would recommend at Jeju Island. The hotel is located as the beach and can be used should you want to go for a swim. The rooms are quite well appointed. Unlike rest of the hotels in Korea, the staff can speak English (though not fluently).

Stayed here for 2 nights and the hotel is HUGE!!!! It's quite a walk to get to your room (so locate the nearest elevator) and this place is perfect for a nice quiet relaxing time with your family. There are several pools, a game room (very nice...saw kids were VERY entertained here), karaoke room (have Soju while you're here to loosen up your singing skills), playground, gym, spa...etc. The sea is in front of the hotel, but you will have to cross the road (not heavily transited) and what you will see are lava rocks everywhere.

Hotel breakfast here is a buffet and there is a wide variety of different types of food. I was told that the Black Boar is a specialty of the island so you will see many restaurants serving this...I unfortunately didn't have enough time to try this.

No idea who gave this 6 stars but I've stayed at 5 star places as good as this.
Unfortunately the staff only speak Korean and very basic English that surprises me if it markets itself as an international hotel.
The prices certainly do not reflect the quality or quantity of the food.
The hotel is nice just VERY over priced for what you get.
