“Pleasant place, decent food.”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

This little bar/ cafe is popular so gets quite busy as the evenings wear on. There are some tables outside next to the street, immediately inside are sofas and a few tables and at the back which is partially covered some more tables. The decor gives it quite an old fashioned look, the furniture is basic but comfortable. Being an older building the rooms are quite small so you tend to quite crowded in with other diners.
The food is varied with European dishes available as well as Sri Lankan. We had the evening special of prawns - this was OK but the basil sauce was a bit overwhelming and I think from a jar. The starter salad I had was avocado based and very nice. They do excellent milkshakes here - the mango one is particularly nice. No alcohol appeared to be available, not that it was a problem.
The service was good, food arrives promptly and the prices are very reasonable.
Definitely somewhere to consider in Galle.

“Gorgeous Food”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

Due to being pregnant i had been really struggling with all the local curries and shellfish during our trip around Sri Lanka. This Cafe had a selection of pastas so i just couldn't resist!! I had a huge bowl of spaghetti bolognese which was just lovely, while my husband tucked into yet another curry - which he said was also lovely! We then had ice cream from Pedlar's gelateria - also lovely!

“Nice, rustic atmosphere with good food”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

Went there while on a visit to Galle. Very good, prompt service. Really liked the rustic, old colonial look. We had the Mexican chicken & seafood rice which were both excellent. Price was very reasonable. Wanted to go back to try their coffee but ran out of time after window shopping down the street - there are many interesting shops. Will definitely go again.

“Great steak”
Reviewed 16 July 2014 via mobile

Had a lovely steak here, which is hard to find in Sri Lanka, I figured. Service was good and atmosphere in the cafe is nice. Only thing is I liked to have a beer with my steak, but unfortunately they didn't serve alcohol. Anyhow, the lime soda did the job

“Nice, but pricey for what it is.”
Reviewed 15 July 2014 via mobile

Pretty location, on the main strip in the Galle Fort area. Dining outside on the street, or inside, which is a converted period courtyard home.

We chose inside, as it has a nice slumber area, where you could recline, Roman style, on the cushioned stone slabs.

Good menu, mostly Italian, with a small local selection. Average main course prices are Rp900. Portions are average to small.

Summary : a little overpriced really, but mostly tasty. Bill for 3 persons, came to Rp3200, with a bottle of water. No alcohol.
