Unlike some of the surroundings, Villa Araliya is very nicely built and standards are kept high both when it comes to design and maintenance.
Many guests are likely using the place as one-night stop-over either at start or at end of their vacation because of how close it is to the airport. This is a pity, as the accommodation, especially in the apartments, is very nice and comfortable. There is also a pool.
The restaurant might disappoint a few, since it is vegetarian. When we arrived, we could only order pizzas which were actually very good (home made), but too small to function as dinner. We would have preferred local Sri Lankan food.
Breakfast was also too small in size for most of us. The coffee supply was never sufficient even though we were just four coffee drinkers - a small thing to fix.
Staff was very helpful and service minded.More
