Very clean and good rooms. Lovely breakfast and we had a delicious curry there one evening. Would thoroughly recommend. Good wifi. Very well-maintained pool, surrounded by beautiful araliya trees. Helpful, pleasant staff.

Room Tip: there is a good choice of rooms, with different facilities.

We spent two nights here - one at the beginning and one at the end of our holiday. Ideally placed for the airport and the restaurants of Negombo - although off the main drag so not noisy or full of traffic. Spotlessly clean with a beautiful pool which our baby loved. Also they had a pet turtle as well as some very calm dogs and cats which were also a hit with our little one. Breakfast was fine. We didn't think much of Negombo, but if like us you need a place to crash near the airport, this is as good as you can get we reckon.

The perfect place to stay when arriving and departing from Sri Lanka. The hosts are lovely, inviting me to a Sri Lankan breakfast with them before I left. Great pizza in the evening. Simple, tranquil - just right. Rooms are clean and very comfortable. If you want to feel like you are on a trip to a far away country and get lost reading a book in a great surround then this is the place.
Oh - while you are there - if you are going to Kandy make sure you ask Stephanie about Serendip Stone Cottage. My favorite place in Sri Lanka. You will love it.

very gentle introduction upon arrival in sri lanka. We delighted in being able to swim away the long flight - and found the rooms to be just what we wanted. The rooms are expensive - but we found the hotel an oasis of calm amongst the noises of Negombo beach - and liked the fact that it was offset from the Main Street. The beach itself (as widely reported) is not great because there's so much trash on it - such a shame that the various tourist companies in the area can't club together to help clean it up. Very conveniently located for Colombo Airport (20min taxi).
The breakfasts were good, the dinners a bit basic (but fine) - an expensive stay but we felt a good start/end holiday treat. If we come to Sri Lanka again, we would definitely stay again.

Expensive place but I guess they can have these prices since it is so close to the airport. It is very nice to see all the cats and dogs living their peaceful lives around the place. Not very nice to see the big cockroach hiding in the bathroom.
Friendly and professional people working im the kitchen.

Thank goodness the sun finally came out for our day in Sri Lanka and we had a swimming pool.

Rooms are big and spacious with big comfortable beds. Lovely big clean swimming pool with a little bar and loungers to get over your holiday or your jetlag. We took a walk to the beach and decided it was actually nicer to spend the afternoon lounging by the pool. Loved all the adopted animals that wander round the place, all very friendly. There weren't many other guests and the service was efficient and quiet allowing a very relaxing stay.

Unlike some of the surroundings, Villa Araliya is very nicely built and standards are kept high both when it comes to design and maintenance.

Many guests are likely using the place as one-night stop-over either at start or at end of their vacation because of how close it is to the airport. This is a pity, as the accommodation, especially in the apartments, is very nice and comfortable. There is also a pool.

The restaurant might disappoint a few, since it is vegetarian. When we arrived, we could only order pizzas which were actually very good (home made), but too small to function as dinner. We would have preferred local Sri Lankan food.

Breakfast was also too small in size for most of us. The coffee supply was never sufficient even though we were just four coffee drinkers - a small thing to fix.

Staff was very helpful and service minded.

Room Tip: Try the apartments - more expensive but very nicely designed and decorated.
