“Paul R”
Reviewed 1 June 2013

Breathtaking site in the middle of the desert, with an ancient arab citadel overlooking the actual site. There is an ancient temple (Bhaal temple) not far from the site that you should check out as well. Also a museum with stuff found on the site (including 1st century silk imported from China), not to big so it's worth going to as well, for example in the early afternoon if it gets too hot outside.

“Absolutely fantastic!”
Reviewed 26 May 2013

In the middle of the desert lost city - fantastic adventure! Don't mind the ever-present annoying local salesman (you just need to get use to them).

“Amazing Historical Site”
Reviewed 16 December 2012

We were fortunate to almost have the entire site to ourselves. It is huge and full of amazing archeological sites. Our guide Fadi was so informative with his knowledge of local history going way back. So much history that it is hard taking it all in. By taking lots of photos and making notes each night I made a DVD of my adventure when I returned home. I visited here in April 2011 just as the uprising had commenced, hence not many visitors at the site.

“The best!”
Reviewed 4 October 2012

This is the best sight in Middle East, I think. Right in the desert, so remote and still so very well taken care of.
