“Rent a bike and have fun”
Reviewed 12 July 2014 via mobile

I don't go there just for the British consulate but to see around . We rent a bike at the MRT station and ride to the consulate , then take the ferry to the opposite island . It was fun and should go around sun set. You can enjoy a beautiful view at the beach and there is market near by . I have a good time there with my family.

“Worth a visit”
Reviewed 9 June 2014

I don't know why other travellers didn't like this place! I quite liked it myself. I think it's much better than the boat ride on Love River. We took a cab right to the bottom of the stairs. When I went there was no entry fee.

The building was beautiful and almost surreal to have such a buildling in Kaoshiong. The red bricks and arches, steep staircases were great for pictures. The view from the complex was beautiful.

If you walk to the water's edge you can see lots of little crabs.

“Beautiful view”
Reviewed 10 March 2014

This building was built in 1865, which already have 140 years in history. You can see and enjoy the sunset of Shi-Hzuwan(Bay) and harbor view of 1.Kaohsiung. But now the charge for admission is NT$30.

“Go there for brunch/lunch/afternoon tea, especially dinner”
Reviewed 16 February 2014

I personally will not pay the NT30 admission just to go visit.

On another note, go to the restaurant there and have a snack or a drink, and the NT30 will be reimbursed by mean of a "coupon".

The night view is AWESOME. Highly recommended.
