We stayed at the VIP room and had this amazing experience of watching sunrise and moon set at the same time.

Likes:
the building itself
windows open east, west and rooftop
balcony
in door jacuzzi
free beach sandals

Dislikes
below standard breakfast and high tea (poor quality, lack thought/effort)

PS: Don't come early. We arrived two hours before official check in time and felt very unwelcome by the hostess. She really made many hints to get us off the property until official check in time.

Room Tip: pay extra for the VIP room

Ocean paradise lives up to its name as a paradise beside the ocean. The resort is set up in a similar fashion to Santorini in Greece, with a good mix of greenery amidst the backdrop of the ocean. There are cows grazing on the grass, and the owner has a small stable of 8 dachshunds that liven up the place. The hotel is located in a secluded area away from the town, which provides an awesome exclusivity if you have your own transport (though non drivers may have to enquire about transport arrangements).

The resort and both rooms we stayed in were perfectly maintained and tastefully & impeccably furnished. Every detail has been thought of, and the love and care put into the resort, make it truly special and welcoming.

The reception and dining areas are well decorated, including an intricate collection of sand and stones from various places that the owner had visited, and two adorable large plush bears which you can choose to sit with. I like the personal touch. I enjoyed looking through the pictures taken, drawings and notes written by the guests. Not to mention, the home cooked breakfast was amazing, and they additionally provided tea time snacks (4-6pm) which made a good refreshment especially when one does not feel like taking a trip out of the hotel. Lisa was also very friendly, and helped me to purchase two cakes as a surprise for my girlfriend’s birthday. We felt really happy chatting with Lisa and the lady, they were very forthcoming in sharing tips to explore kenting and some stories. Remarkable effort has been put into providing guests a comfortable stay. The only issue I faced was one of the dachshunds inexplicably turning hostile and trying to chase me off the property when I went back to pick up a bottle of water I left behind.

I stayed in 2 different rooms on my two nights in Kenting. On my first night, I stayed in the standard room. The room itself is amazingly large, comfortable, well equipped, and outright lovely. There is lounge music playing in the room, courtesy of a repeating DVD, which helps in relaxation and in setting a conducive mood for a holiday. There is also a comfortable bathtub for soaking and enjoying the boundary-less sea horizon. The hotel does provide a jar of bath salts to complete the experience. The room also had a balcony overlooking the sea, which provided a great view of the ocean for viewing the sunrise/sunset. On my second night, I stayed in the VIP room. This was an upgraded version of the standard room, with even bigger space and an indoor Jacuzzi (of course with the breathtaking sea view). One could enjoy the sea view and breeze from the comfort of the bed. Like the idea of the windows above the bed which give one a panoramic view of the mountains. The most memorable aspect of the VIP room though, was the private rooftop that comes with the room. (On a side-note: I thought it was really strange when the owner recommended us to lie on the rooftop for stargazing given that there are no chairs/couches or anything. Don’t think she referred to lying on the floor right?) This rooftop is excellent for taking in a panoramic view of the Kenting region, from the seaside at one end and a township at the other, as well as taking in an amazing view of the night sky (though the stars only come out in full force very late at night).

I’m really impressed by the owner’s attention to detail. Just a few egs. There is a note stuck in the toilet wall whereby guest could keep themselves entertained with jokes while releasing oneself :) Little notes around the accommodation to remind guests to relax and live in the moment. Especially liked the amenities, the flower-scented organic shampoo and shower gel. Ceramics tiles used to decorate the tissue box to model after the silhouette of the resort.

The place was so good that I did not feel like touring the Kenting region, lest it took time away from my enjoyment of the room. I would strongly recommend this to anyone touring Kenting, if one is prepared to pay more for a night or two of luxury.

Thanks Lisa for the postcards and giving us the priceless good memories during our stay in ocean paradise. Truly enjoyed the tranquility and peacefulness, living in the moment :)

Very nice place, far from the crowds of Kenting resorts.
Great hosts, excellent service.
You definitely need a car to get there and tour around; motorbike is not advised because the road doesn't have street lights everywhere at night and it's on top of the cliff.
Different sunsets and sunrises every day, including nice rainbows too.
We will come back.

A very peaceful place after all the hustle and bustle of traveling. We ended our vacation here. It is very quiet and calming resort. Room were exquisite. Remember to pack bubble bath for the luxurious tub with a stunning view. They don't sell bubble bath products in Kenting.

As others have said, the views are absolutely breathtaking. The 180 degree panorama of the Pacific is as good as you'll ever see.
The hotel is very isolated on a hill, which can be a plus or minus depending on what sort of experience you're looking for. You will need to order a taxi if you don't have any means of transport if you wish to go out. For those who prefer to stay in can order seafood delivery from a local restaurant.
A good option is to rent an electric scooter for 800 twd a day, which can be delivered straight to the b&b. Then you have the flexibility to explore the area leisurely. Baisha beach is 10 mind drive away, kenting is around 20 mins.
We stayed for 2 nights in different rooms. The VIP room has the added benefit of its own rooftop and a Jacuzzi in place of a bath tub but the other rooms feature similar furnishings and amenities, and all the rooms are sizeable enough and have their own balcony.
During summer there were quite a few families visiting but the place never felt crowded. The 8 dauchunds and the cows are very cute as well and keep the guests entertained.
One thing, like many hotels in Taiwan hair conditioner is not provided so bring your own.
Overall this place is perfect for families or couples looking for a getaway. And don't forget to pack your camera and tripod.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Ocean Paradise Resort is tucked away at the top of a hill, away from the touristy main strip of Kenting. We stayed at the VIP double room located on 3/F and it gives a breath-taking view both east and west. I was so impressed with the thoughts the owners must have put in designing the room! The bed is facing the little harbour of Kenting and the endless stretch of ocean, so the magnificent ocean view is the first thing you see when you wake up without getting out of the bed. A small window is thoughtfully placed at the back of the bed, where you can see the sunrise, again without leaving the bed.

The architecture of the resort has demonstrated the owners' passion of Kenting, where they have made the best use of the view, the breeze, the nature and lots of natural light! I love the designated balcony for the sunset and the pasture where the cows hang around.

Although the VIP double room is a bit pricey but I think it's well worth it, especially if you have all the way to the southern tip of Taiwan, you might as well get the best out of it!

The magnificent view, great hospitality of the owners, the tranquility that's hard to find elsewhere, I recommend this place whole-heartedly!

We were very unlucky to be caught in a rare rainy day in Kenting, but exactly because of that, we got to see a rainbow. And it was Lisa who called us up in the room to make sure we see the rainbow! This little gesture really said a lot about the hospitality of the owners and how much they wish to share the best of this place with their guests! I can't wait to be back again!

Room Tip: Pay up for the VIP room, you won't regret it!

A place that is mesmerizing!

You will surely be stunned by the fantastic sea view! Where else can you find a place that you can enjoy a wonderful sea view while bathing? What a unique experience!

Indeed, you can enjoy a great sense of tranquility there! There's no need to hurry staying there! From different angles, you can capture as many picturesque photos as you can! Everyone can be a great photographer there!

Last but not least, I must stress the hospitality of the hosts and also some cute little doggies! They are so friendly and helpful! :-)
