It's a nice national park. You can reach it by motorbike and you can see some nice nature. The light house is not so impressive, but the coastal area is really nice. You can walk around, they've got good paths so you don't need any special walking shoes.

Really nice beach with awesome scenary and cheap water sports available! Have you haggle and bargain with them to the maximum. Do compare the prices around as well. There is two beaches: Da Wan and Xiao Wan. Xiao Wan is more for local, which we regretted not going; while Da Wan is the more exp place to do water sports. We tried jetsking there as well! Really fun experience!

We traveled to Kenting with our son and daughter in law who live in Taipei City. The light hiking through the Forest Recreation Area was the perfect activity on a warm sunny late June afternoon. The trails are marked in Chinese and English plus they provide a map in both languages. Fortunately we carried enough water for a hot day but there are 2 refreshment areas as well. Live monkeys scurried around in the bushes near the path and we saw numerous butterflies throughout the trek. Two places not to miss: the Fairy Cave and the Sea Viewing Tower. The cave is well lit and contains stalactites and stalagmites, some of which are labeled. There is one way in and the exit takes you to another part of the trail. Some steep stairs but nothing too strenuous. The tower is a large structure with elevator and stair access that provide breathtaking views of the southern most tip of Taiwan. Views of the Pacific Ocean and surrounding villages of Taiwan's southern peninsula are amazing. You can purchase drinks and food at very reasonable prices and enjoy the views from a cafe table or go one more level to the open viewing station. A not to miss place in Kenting for sure!

This is the area of Taiwan, being in the southernmost tip it is warm throughout the year, where you can swim everyday. The beaches are beautiful and the rocky hillside are also provides a wonderful panoramic view of the shores below.
