The Outpost is perfect for those heading out on safari. In the afternoons, you will see people gearing up, preparing for treks up Kilimanjaro. There is a pool area, which is a nice place to wind down after a long day, as long as you don't mind a little kitchy-ness. There are also many small secluded tables in garden areas that are very pleasant.
The cottage style rooms are quite cozy and have television, warm shower, and mosquito nets. They are clean and well kept, but are nonetheless a bit musty. They also have quite thin walls, so you hear most everything your neighbors are up to - hopefully nothing noisy!
Breakfast is fairly standard, offering eggs to order (be sure to ask about this, as some of the staff neglect to tell you this is an option!), as well as buffet style toast, fruit, coffee, beans, and juice.
Apart from the free breakfast, I would AVOID the food for lunch and dinner - except for the coffee and fresh juices. Even after a few tries, I was optimistic that maybe I had just made a bad choice ordering and I would have better luck the next go around. Alas, I continued to be disappointed, especially since the prices are on the high side for budget travelers. Luckily, there are several nearby restaurants that are within walking distance that offer better options.More
