This bar is tiny, smoke filled, and great on busy nights- most fridays and saturdays- not great for dancing but a fun place to hang out. Most taxi drivers don't know where it is- so you have to describe it- its off sokonie road past meru house post office towards shoprite- its down a dirt road and a sketchy looking alley but its worth it on good nights!

This is one of those little backstreet gems where the locals hang out that you won't find in the glossy brochures, small, quaint and friendly with a great vibe and realistic pricing.
This is the place to meet real people in Arusha, a cultural melting pot with a great atmosphere and decent local food, the bar starts to come alive after ten, this is a late night venue.

Every time I have had a gin or two at Lively Lady the management and staff have been brilliant. The bar and facility are really clean and well cared for.

The food is I think the best indian in Arusha.

A great littel find and is well worth it's weight in gold.

Lively LADY Bar and Grill is located of the main Sokoine rd, turn right after Backpackers hotel, about 200 yards, towards the train station, or ask any taxi driver- they would know. Food is a mix of Indian and local. If you are looking for a big meal I suggest you go elsewhere- not because the food is not good- its better than most places (local places), but it takes too long to get served, rather get something quick like samosas (deep fried pies). Bar is small but ok (by local standards), serves a big variety of drinks, better than anyone, beers are usually cold, you can try shooters too. Crowd is mixed: expats, Indians, some locals. Bar gets crowded, but not often though. Owner is a tall Indian guy, rather friendly- hippy type... Anyway for a taste of local food go somewhere else like Nick's bar in Njiro, or Galaxy in center town. I don't know if its still open though, but try anyway... You may get more lucky than me!
