The African Tulip Hotel in Arusha is a true gem. Having stayed there three times this year, I am committed to this hotel. Wonderful and attentive staff, from the general manager, front office and marketing manager to the waiting staff, reception, concierge and housekeeping. Excellent, excellent service. The food and rooms are great. Rooms are spacious and super clean, it appears the housekeeper cleans every time a guest leaves their room. A must for anyone visiting Arusha!

I stayed there for two nights. Modern, clean, comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good restaurant, great breakfast buffet included. Reasonable rates. Shuttle to Kilimanjaro (JRO) airport for reasonable fee. I would most certainly return.

We stayed at the African Tulip before and after going on safari with Roy's Safari. The accommodations were outstanding; the atmosphere welcoming; the food excellent; the staff beyond expectations. We would highly recommend this beautiful hotel!

This was my second stay at the hotel, the first being in November 2010. The hotel is immaculately clean and the staff very friendly. Being set 50m back off the road there is really no traffic noise. It is a small hotel and so has only one restaurant but the there is a good variety on the menu and the quality is competant.
This being Tanzania there is a 4% surcharge for using credit cards. The room rate needs to be paid in dollars and meals etc in local currency. My recommendation is either to transfer ahead of your stay or carry dollars in cash, traveller's cheques are a real no-no getting a 15% lower exchange rate through out the country! Have enough local cash to settle your bill. I plan to stay there again in March.

Customer service in the hotel industry doesn't get any better than this. Great location, wonderful rooms, excellent restaurant and pool. The staff made our stay more comfortable and accommodating than I've seen anywhere in Africa. Located along a quiet side street, yet easy walking distance to downtown Arusha. Spacious rooms and an unbelievably helpful staff. I spent nearly a week in the African Tulip and there is no better place to stay in Arusha before or after starting your hike or safari.

My husband and I and our son and brothers-in-law stayed at the African Tulip before and after our safari and after we went to Zanzibar. The management, the front desk staff, and the porters were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was upgraded with each visit, and we were extremely comfortable. The pool is very nice, everything is extremely clean, the food is good, and the beer is cold. But the very best thing about the African Tulip are the people who work there. Thumbs up!!
