“Sakina Camp”
Reviewed 23 August 2012

We stayed here during a company-run expedition and this lovely little place formed a sort of base camp for our visit whilst we went off around the rest of the country on a community project, safari and a climb up Kilimanjaro. Despite the less than welcoming appearance on the outside, once within its boundary walls, Sakina Camp was a little green haven in which we spent several nights camping in its garden. The accommodation was great for camping and from what I saw of it, the actual rooms were also well worth the price. Special mention has to go to the hospitality that the owner showed to our group - he tended all our needs; from allowing us space to cook and charge our cameras to helping us get buses into Arusha. All in all, a great little campsite which I thoroughly recommend!

Sakina Campsite is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are basic, but very clean and affordable. It's also a friendly little place if you're a solo traveler -- you can arrange to have meals at the Campsite and you'll frequently end up having dinner with numerous other people. Walking to town takes about 40 minutes, but the staff - particularly Robert - can arrange taxis for you as well as give you routes for the minibuses. Robert is an excellent manager and a lovely person. He was extremely friendly and kind, and would always go out of his way to be helpful in any way possible. He's also a great cook! I highly recommend Sakina.

Stayed at this campsite located conveniently just outside Arusha Away from the busy town. The quality of the accommodation is great for the price and the staff are very friendly and accommodating to any needs you may have. A great recommendation for those going on expeditions as I used this place to stay around Arusha when we had rest days for our own expedition. All in all, a solid and good choice.

The lady that owns this place is all that. She was so helpful and friendly. The house is comfortable and has all you need. The staff, who are local workers depending on this type of work, will cook you a great dinner served around a big table with whoever shows up. You can get tour pick-ups and whatever else you need from here. It is safe and has a bus at the door.

Room Tip: Any room is good. It is not a busy are and has a large yard and high fence keeping out road noise.

One Keny guy, who I met on my way to Arusha from Nairobi, introduced this accomodation to me.
It is very clean and price is affordable. In addition, good tourist information and tour program was available. Very helpful staff and good breakfast.
Easy to access to downtown by bus.

Room Tip: Probably ask residnets living in the place you will travel through online site.

This really was a nice place to stay. The host was great, nice breakfast (free) nice bed. From the backyard you can see MT Meru, nice view! The host was very helpfull. She arranged some things for me, she made sure I could take a dalla dalla, use the internet somewhere near the city. I do have to say, If you like to be close to the city, get close to the city, otherwise you pay way to much for your taxi to go back and forth. And drivers of dalla dallas abviously don't always like white women... so a taxi sometimes is a 'must'...
