We had originally planned to stay at the Bay Leaf Boutique Hotel on our recent trip to Arusha, Tanzania but a friend swung us a good deal in another top hotel in the city and advised us to dine at the Bay Leaf instead, to which we obliged.
The Bay Leaf is a beautiful hotel with lovely manicured gardens and a fine dining restaurant. The restaurant has a fairly elaborate menu with an equally decent cocktail list. Our orders were promptly taken, I settled for a steak as did my partner our traveling companions settled for risotto which was looked good and they enjoyed it. Our steaks were tender and presentation was top class, however the service staff missed that mine was meant to be medium and the other well done. We overlooked that as the food was good and our compliments to the chef
However as we arrived around staff changeover time, the service was not as seamless as we expected as the waitress who took our order handed over to another waiter leading to a delay in food delivery as well as a bit of confusion and in who had ordered what item. Note-withstanding this the food was great and the ambiance first class. We will certainly dine there on our future visit
