Me, my husband and a couple of friends stayed in this beautiful place for three days. It is a great place to relax, to enjoy the nature - there is a spectacular lake in the backyard and a magnificent view of Kilimanjaro and lots of monkeys around -, to enjoy the company of your friends in the room with a fireplace. The staff is kind, all-the-time smiling and helpful, food is excellent, rooms are comfortable, so nicely decorated and clean. I don't have any negative opinion about this lodge, I just want to go there again! If you ever go there, you should absolutely read the inspiring story of Gisella, the woman who has not only made the lodge as it is today, but also gave the spirit to this place.

Room Tip: All the rooms in the yard are already great. But also, the room in the main building is huge and ver...

Before a safari, I always stay here to recharge after a long haul flight. I highly recommend it to my clients too. Its a little off the beaten track as you drive away from the main road between JRO and Arusha. Then you cross a little wooden foot bridge, walk the stone steps and then see the main lodge building and cottages. It is incredibly peaceful, rich with songbirds and even colubus monkeys. It has a great 'getaway from it all' ambience. The rooms don't have air con as this is quite a 'green' lodge. The food is good, but no menu. Meals usually consist of a small buffet with local currys/stews. Breakfast is the usual cereal, fruit, toast mix with fresh eggs to order. The service is always friendly and impeccable. Can't wait to to be sitting on the veranda and sipping a cold Killi again!

Room Tip: The suites offer you the most privacy and are closest to the pool, set away from the rest of the gar...

Staff is friendly and helpful in this gorgeous intimate setting. Rooms are spacious and beautiful with local touches. This is a perfect spot to relax and to use as a base to explore the nearby national parks. The best coffee anywhere!

Let me star with the trivial stuff - the rooms are very specious, clean and well maintained.
the restaurant is fantastic and the staff - absolutely amazing.
there is a lake, monkeys, birds, 50 acres of forests, horses, swimming pool, free wifi etc
But what makes this place so special is the owners - open-minded, focused on sustainable practices including their own safaris and lodges.
Oh, and the place have heritage - find out about it when you come here.
After many hotels and really nasty places for sleep and rest in Africa, this lodge is the best to happen in weeks!

If you want to give yourself a treat, there could not be a better place than Ngare Sero.... wide lawns, beautiful rooms, friendly staff, attention to detail, great food, stunning views, perfect climate, a lake that seems to have been plucked out of a fairy tale (and you can go swimming in it too!) ... and an overall atmosphere of peace and tranquility that is hard to match. Absolute value for money and a little bit of something special that no money can buy.... cant wait to go back.

a nice and pleasant place, for those who have no passion for all alike hotel chains, nor for large ones; it is run by its owners who adore the place - and this factor influences every little detail.
it is separated by a forest from local surroundings, so you feel quite comfortable and like "in your own remote place", far from Tanzanian everyday life, whose details not everyone would love.

the owners are very flexible in safari planning - if you have special requests, they dont tell you this or that is not in standard package, trying to implement what is possible instead

we definitely enjoyed our time in Ngare Sero and the safaris that were organised by the owners of the place.

Comfortable rooms, great food and amazing service located in a historical mansion on grounds surrounded by natural springs with a view of the Kilimanjaro Mountain!

How could such a place be anything but excellent!
