Luckily we stayed there only 01 night as part of our safari package.

PROS – the location, close to the town centre (15min walk). Clean. Tasty food but unfortunately you need to wait for it approx. 50min…Pleasant restaurant staff.

CONS – Horrible reception staff with attitude problems, little request for a roll of toilet paper was a huge issue and it took 'only' whole night + 03 reminders to sort it out.
Air con didn't work at all, couldn't sleep all night as it was so hot. Room full of mosquitos.

DO NOT RECOMMEND and will never stay there again.

We spent 5 nights there and had booked several rooms. The rooms were great; very comfortable, clean, spacious and well equipped. It is a shame that the staff were not up to the task. They were rude and not helpful. For any ordinary request ( from ordering a beer to settling the bill), it felt like we were asking from them a big favor!

Room Tip: Rooms above the reception are great, they come with a common big balcony.

We stayed there before and after our Safari,so for 3 nights in total it was nice hotel.
The Food is very very good, bare in mind it takes aprox. 40-60 minutes to get your order (even a sandwich) so be patient.
Rooms and the hotel itself are very clean (although the 2nd time we stayed we had to replace towels twice because we got dirty towels).
Don't relay on the Wi-fi,lots of connections problem and when asking the stuff to restart the router which usually solves the problem you will get a "no problem" answer but no actual action.
ask for the Non smoking Rooms upstairs, unless you are enjoy the smell of cigaretes in the room.
Overall - for a short stay it's a good choice.

Room Tip: Ask fro a NON Smoking room to avoid the cigaretess smell that just won't go away. the rooms upstairs were /non smoking. ground level-smoking

We arrived at this hotel without reservation. We were very surprised to hear about their price. We didn't believe it at first, since we had seen scrappy places for lot more money. It's a save place, nice food. We went back after our Safari and they event gave us an upgraded room for the same price. Some negative items. There was not much pressure on the water and we didn't always have hot water. But compaired to what we had before, this was luxurey for a decent price.

I think accommodation in Arusha is overpriced, so for me, the Lush Garden Hotel was good value for money. The room we had was quite big, very comfortable beds (not hard like the New Safari Hotel). The wireless internet was much faster than I usually get in Tanzania and we were able to get a room without booking.

Yes, the shower does take quite a while to warm up and doesn't last long, but if you know this in advance it can be worked around.

Our lunch did take over an hour to be cooked, and it was ok, but there are so many restaurants nearby, that I would suggest you take a short taxi ride to get something better. My favourite restaurant is Vama (an Indian restaurant which is only a few minutes by taxi).

The lady on the front desk was very welcoming, however the breakfast staff were not particularly interested, but for me the comfy bed far outweighs the staff issues. I generally have a low expectation of service in Tanzania and then I am not disappointed.

We were told not to walk down to the shop on the main road (in daylight), however I have walked along that road numerous times and not had any problems, although I do not carry valuables when I am walking in this area. It is easy to get the staff to call a taxi.

Overall, if you are only staying 1 night, it is substantially cheaper than the major hotels and so I would recommend it.
