“Lovely spot for a relaxing afternoon”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2013

Wonderful place to go for lunch with kids. They have a big garden and a nice play area for kids. You can sit outside soaking up the sunshine enjoying a glass of wine as the kids entertain themselves. The food selection was very good and arrived quickly. The handicraft shop promotes locally made products and adds to the relaxed atmosphere as it's very easy to browse away looking at the lovely things on sale.

“Pizza at it's best!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 August 2013

This summer, my friend and I travelled to Arusha for 7 weeks on a sort of volunteering programme. Whilst here we dined at blue heron about 4 times. Each time was as good as the other. The atmosphere is lovely as the tables are set outside. Little bit cold so wear a cardigan! The best night we went was on a Friday as they have a live band! They were pretty good too. The pizza is by far the best thing on the menu, properly stone baked goodness. The soup is also to die for. This place is a must!

“Great food in a lovely setting, but probably best to avoid Saturday afternoons if you want peace and quiet!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2013

This restaurant is a big favourite with ex-pats living in Arusha - which does have it's drawbacks, especially on a Saturday afternoon. There is a large area outdoors, under shade (which is the place to sit if you want a bit of peace and quiet) and there is also a lovely garden (with a play area - hence it's attraction for local families, which can make it less a less than peaceful place to be). Having said that, the food is very good - they have a pizza oven, and they make great salads (very big portions). The menu is very extensive, offering really well cooked, well presented, healthy options - ranging from paninis and other sandwiches, salads, pizzas, pasta dishes and many other main meals. They also have great desserts and ice cream. Prices are reasonable. A great place to go during the weekday or in the evening. Check for opening times though because it isn't open every evening.
