My wife and I arrived at the hotel around 11 pm after arriving from Amsterdam. This was the beginning of our 10 day private safari in Tanzania. My wife was a bit concerned about arriving in a relatively poor Eastern Africa country so late in the day. We were very pleasantly surprised upon arriving at the hotel. Everything was very nice and comparable to any upscale hotel in American or Europe. We had been upgraded to a top floor suite. We found the accommodations to be great. The next morning we left early so we did not get time to enjoy the hotel until our last day when we came back to the hotel in the middle of the afternoon to rest until our flight left for Amsterdam around midnight. We think that the hotel was a great place to start and end our safari.

Mt. Meru hotel is a great place to stay. Its comforts and luxuries are commendable. Minor staff should be highly appreciated for their frinedliness and continous and untiring assistance. My only request is that the front office gents & ladies would take a cue from the minor staff and at least SMILE with the guests

Room tip: I stayed at Room No.205 for three nights. But better if I could get a room at the top floor for fantastic panaromic view

My husband and I stayed one night here enroute to our Tanzanian safari and wished we could have stayed longer. The hotel is modern, and well designed with fairly large rooms and bathrooms. And the public areas are lovely.

Wifi was not good in the room, but the signal in the public areas was fine. The back of the hotel backs onto some lush green spaces and it looked to be a great place for relaxing in the sunshine.

Ate at the poolside grill where we had a good pizza. The Buffet breakfast the next morning was excellent with many choices. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends.

Room tip: Ask for a room overlooking Mt. Meru

We stayed here before the night before leaving Arusha Airport the next day back for Europe. It is located in the city, but it has a huge garden / park that is very nice to walk around, especially during sunset. Nice view of Mount Meru from pretty much anywhere in the park. Being set back from the road it is quiet and peaceful. We had a pretty decent meal at the hotel, not gourmet, but certainly met all our needs. The pool is spacious and good especially when traveling with kids. We did not leave the hotel at all to see Arusha and got the impression from our guide that there could be safety issues in the city - not sure if that was true or a bit exaggerated. There are also a few shops, some quite elegant where one member of our party got a great deal on an beautiful Prada bag. Overall I would recommend, especially if you have an early transfer to the airport the next day.

A 3 night business stay at Mount Meru Hotel which was according to expectations. Staff was very friendly and willing to assist at every minute, good breakfast buffet, clean rooms and a very nice terrace and swimming pool to relax in the evening. Hopefully I will have the opportunity to return soon.
