“Super comfortable. Efficient. Clean.”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

I was blown away by the speed of check in and check out. They were super efficient. I got to my room and needed help with the A/C and a baby crib. The A/C was fixed within minutes and the baby crib brought within 15 minutes. Then the front desk called back to make sure i had both issues sorted. Room service is quick. Breakfast can be brought to your room for about $3!

Room Tip: Rooms have great views of the gold course or alternatively, Mount Meru. You can't go wrong.

I stayed one night at this hotel on business. The room was bit small; the overall size was reasonable for one person, but can be very small for more than one. The bathroom, the room facilities are all good. As some others have noted, the glass pane between the room and the bathroom makes it difficult to get privacy if more than 1 is staying. The breakfast had a decent spread, the food was fine. The surrounding land around the hotel is pleasant. All in all, an option to consider. Slightly overpriced, I felt, but most such hotels in a touristy area are!

I travel half way around the world spanning 5 continents every year. As a Tanzanian, I travel extensively within Tanzania as well. This past week, I rather unexpectadly travelled to Arusha on business. Apart from the many reasons that one would wish to visit the City of Arusha with an excellent view of the iconic Mount Kilimanjaro and the splendour of Mount Meru, one reason to visit Arusha must be staying at the newly refurbished Mt. Meru Hotel. A new addition to the management is Ms.Aisha Sweya, the Guest Relations Officer. Ms. Aisha Sweya made our stay at the hotel splendid and enjoyable. From the minute we arrived to the minute we departed a day later, she had a full smile and always wondered how she could help make our stay more enjoyable. Ms.Sweya insisted on feedback from guests and constantly believed that the hotel could always do better and that she too could always be of better service. Risk being spolit with attention on your next visit to Mount Meru Hotel. I congratulate the management of the Mt. Meru Hotel for this great addition to management. This feeling was also aired by other guests from Europe and fromThe Middle East that we met on 4th April, 2014.

Room Tip: You want a room on Floor 5 or above for an excellent picturesque view of the Golf Course and the Sou...

As a safari guide the Mount Meru Hotel is in a great location to start and finish a safari, the prices are very competitive . I love the bar by the pool , the rooms, the staff is great there are not asking for a tip every time they touch your luggage , nice grounds to walk off some of the jet lag .In all the years going there I have not had one client get sick, touch wood .

Stayed at Mount Meru three times over a couple of weeks (before an excursion to Kenya, back for a rest before climbing Kilimanjaro, back for another rest day before heading to Zanzibar) and it quickly began to feel like home. Nice rooms, good service, food and drink were enjoyable, and the pool was terrific.

Room Tip: The power seems to go out quite regularly, might want a lower floor if you are not comfortable with...

My husband and I stayed at the Mount Meru Hotel for two nights at the beginning of our safari. This was our first trip to Africa, and we were really unsure what to expect. This hotel was a very good introduction to our trip – it was a very nice and modern business hotel. It could really be in any major city in the U.S. with beautiful grounds, a coffee bar and a decent restaurant. Both breakfast and dinner were buffet, and the food was simple but generally good. It is a little outside of downtown Arusha, and so it is also quiet. The hotel has free wifi, but we found it to be pretty spotty. The only oddity is that the bathroom had a semi-frosted glass window next to the toilet with a view of the bed. I thought this was a little strange and lacked a bit of privacy.

The hotel has a great location with great facilities. There is a live band and beautiful garden to enjoy a BBQ dinner or the option of a more traditional al a carte menu. The rooms are of good quality with nice bathroom facilities. Customer service levels were sub standard for a hotel in this class such as not fulfilling taxi bookings, be able to print documents.
