“PERFECT START TO A FABULOUS SAFARI”
Reviewed 28 October 2013

We had a long series of flights from UK and arrived late morning ,our room was ready and the staff were very welcoming,

The room was very spacious, basically it was a small bungalow room, very pleasant shady surroundings, very clean, mosquito net over bed(necessary)

There are lovely grounds to explore and excellent pool, also relaxing areas are excellent with free tea and coffee available

Breakfast was excellent with good selection and egg station, evening meal offered a good selection and was served at table, prices for drinks were reasonable

This is a lovely spot to relax at after a long trip around Tanzania. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are large and comfortable and the grounds are well kept and relaxing. Meals in the restaurant are good quality. There is also a nice pool in which to cool off!

A nice relaxed camp near lake many area with lovely staff.
This camp isn't as luxurious as some others we stayed at but the staff were lovely, and we had some great conversations with them about life and music in the local area.
Whilst this camp is in mosquito city we were surprised at the few number of Mosquitos there were.
Watch out for all the small bats leaving the main building as sun sets- it's quite a sight!

We enjoyed our stay at Moivaro Lodge in September 2013. This was our second stay at the lodge in two years.

We recognised the staff from our previous stay which was nice. All the staff were very friendly and had some small talk with us. We were given a welcome drink before being shown to our room. The grounds have been well maintained and nothing looks to have changed. It has beautiful quiet lush grounds and was what we were looking for our one night layover in Arusha. The gift shop has down sized its stock and has a few standard souvenirs and basic necessities like deodorant etc. The pool was cold and we did not swim in it due to this reason.

We stayed in room 30. It is a nice cottage which was a bit sparse and needs a little soul. It was very clean. The room was a bit dark. Still needs a light near the suitcase rack/ storage area to make it functional without having to rummage through your bag while holding a torch or wearing a headlamp. The bed was two medium firmness single beds pushed together. The bed was made with two single bed light-weight quilts and four thin pillows, which was ok for me and I slept well. It was a little cool at night. No extra blankets were provided. The lodge/room was quiet however I did hear a dog barking around 5am (same as last time). Bottled water was provided in the bathroom. Soap, shampoo and bath gel were supplied. The shower had no curtain or door for privacy. The drain cover was not secured to the top of the shower drain, which I think should be for obvious safety reasons.

We ordered lunch, 1 large water, 2 pumpkin soups which came with bread rolls and butter and 2 vegetables and chapati which was flavourful and cost about US$20 total. Dinner and breakfast were included in our night’s stay and drinks were excluded. Dinner was 4 courses; we had entrée, soup, main and dessert. The entree was a tiny salad, followed by minestrone soup, Napolitano pasta and a chocolate pudding (it was a dry cupcake with no icing). It was ok basic cooking. Breakfast was good with pastries, cereal and fruit on a table, with a buffet of the usual hot breakfast foods. A chef is on hand to make eggs to order. You made your own tea or coffee

I stayed here before and after my Kili climb. The place is around 1 hr away from the Kilimanjaro airport. Overall I enjoyed my stay there. The accommodations are quaint, simple and clean. There are no electronics in the room so you are completely unplugged (phone, TV etc). The staff was very helpful and the food was good. There is no concept of adding tips to the bills you need to carry cash around if you would like to tip anyone. Laundry was cheap and very fast.

Arrived late due to a lost bag at KLO and welcomed by friendly staff who had kept the kitchen open for us and served us a very good meal on the outside patio. Rooms (we had a double and triple) were clean if sparse, grounds very well kept and staff was wonderful and attentive. After 8 days on the mountain everyone was very happy to know we were returning to a well stocked bar and another great meal. Beer and items in the small store are appropriately priced. Had a wonderful post-hike evening gathered around the fire pit. Overall would recommend it to anyone looking for a comforatable, clean and spacious place for an overnight.

Among the accommodations we stayed in during a 12 day safari, this was and average place though not the best camp we have experienced.
Decently clean, decent food.
Staff is friendly as usual in Tanzania, but not the most friendly. Again, average.
Coming from much better camps in Tarangire and Manyara we felt the difference.
