“A NICE STAY”
Reviewed 9 October 2013

We slept there before we started our 6 day tour with Bobby Tours. The staff were very helpfull and we realy felt at home from the beginning. The rooms are spacious , neat and the water was always warm for our showers in the evening and the following morning. We had a very nice dinner at the Chinese Restourant on the premises and the breakfast the following morning was good. I feel we received what we paid for.

It's a hotel frequented by package safari tourists so I guess they don't need to be on top of their came to woo people. Everything is very shabby. A long walk upstairs to my room because the elevator didn't go there for some reason. Reception is slow to help. Internet didn't work in my room for a long time and the IT people were also very unhelpful. There is a pool and the restaurants are ok. Room is spacious and there is a very good power shower but for the price you pay it could do with some renovating. I would not return here.

We stayed here for two nights.....the staff was friendly....the lobby has a ton of woodwork and carvings. Our room had a great view of Mount Meru. The food was decent, but not great. It is a place to stay in advance of a Mt. Kili climb or safari. There's a pool too.

Room Tip: I was in 807 and had a great view of Mt Meru. They also have a nice spa for a back or foot massage...

Stayed here for two nights at the beginning and end of a trek I was working on. Helpful staff, very old school, don't try to be in a rush.

Rooms were clean and both the beds I had were comfortable with nice pillows and bedding.

Wifi is not up to the job due to too many people taking up bandwidth.

Food is average, breakfast the best meal. The kitchens do not look too inspiring and I would be slightly concerned re hygiene, so apply the usual rules for eating abroad.

This hotel has seen better days. My room was dirty, and the only redeeming feature was the power shower. The mosquito net over the bed was full of holes!

Staff were brusque, porters were hustling for tips, even though I had 6 meters to walk and 2 hours to wait, I felt as if they were ready to swoop on me at any given time.

The Italian restaurant made me ill but the staff there were attentive. The Forex bureau charged the most ridiculous exchange rates - you're better off walking down the road. WiFi in the hotel was hit and miss.

There's much better on offer in town.

This place needs to have a major renovation of the rooms and the common areas. It's old and worn out. Staff were nice but not nice enough to make up for an old, tired property. We also stayed at the sister Impala hotel in Arusha. It was also tired and worn out. There are better options in both towns.

This hotel is not my firat choice in Arusha, but it is fine for a few nights. The hotel has been much better, but lack maintenance. However, the rooms are clean, the staff very friendly and the price i reasonable.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better rooms.
