“Beautiful gardens and pool area”
Reviewed 26 February 2014 via mobile

We stayed in Room 19 and found the water pressure to be almost non existent, so getting a shower wasn't fun. Otherwise, the room was adequate for our needs. The best thing about this lodge is the gardens and pool area which were very pretty and so unexpected. The dining area is convenient as the neighborhood is a bit iffy to go out. There were many items to choose from the dinner menu and we liked our choices of chicken and the mixed grill. The breakfast buffet isn't great. Eggs sitting in steamers and slightly raw bacon were not appealing. There is fresh fruit as an option. We were lucky to have been there on a Saturday as 3 wedding parties came through to have pictures taken and it was fun to see.

This was a perfectly lovely place to stay before and after our Kilimanjaro climb. The staff were solemn but sweet, and the rooms were simple but clean.

My only advice is to get a room that has more than a door between you and the people next door. I had a pair of Aussies and it sounded like I was in their bed when they were "doing it' (didn't take them long thank god) and discussing their packing for Kili ALL NIGHT LONG.

Some rooms have a wall between which apparently is better.

The avocado mango salad is worth the sleepless nights. Almost.

Room Tip: Bring earplugs.

We stayed here for one night upon our arrival in Arusha before heading off for safari. We arrived quite late (after 11 pm) but there was plenty of staff to greet us and check us in. Our hut was spacious and comfortable. The hot water came on right away and there was ample supply. The gardens were lovely. We did not have time to really enjoy the property as we left early the next morning, but everything looked quite nice. Breakfast was an extensive buffet with fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, pancakes, and cereals, coffee, tea and fresh juice to choose from. (The standard safari lodge breakfast in TZ!) This is a great place to start/end your safari.

We stayed here both upon arrival in Arusha and at the end of our safari. One gets to this small resort by passing through a dirt road and a very poor area (which can feel discouraging when you first get there), but the lodge is nice, set in a wonderful lush garden, with a nice swimming pool. The rooms are nice, the windows of the newer ones have nets. They only provide one towel per person and a small hand soap, but they have plenty of hot water :-) The internet connection is slow and unstable, but works well early in the morning. The food is good and the Owner and his staff are friendly. Given the garden and the pool, I think it is one of the best options in Arusha.

Room Tip: ask for one of the new rooms (32 to 36)..they are further out form the reception, but are cleaner an...

Arusha is a bustling nice city and the hub for many safari tours. We came in from Ngorogoro and needed a one night stay. This lovely hotel is situation in the middle of a very busy area and is a true oasis. Gardens are gorgeous, some of the prettiest we saw on the trip. It is private acreage and safe and we loved it. Rooms are spacious and clean with 4 poster, netting, kerosene lamp on outside sitting area and a great pool and spa if you have the time. Only negative i would mention is that when we checked in they neglected to tell us that dinner was included. We did not order much and certainly would have if we had known. Internet was very spotty but no one needs to be plugged in all the time--we learned this. Arusha has a great restaurant downtown which caters to American/European tastes and is a welcome change. Great deal for the money. I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask if dinner is included. There are new huts and older ones--go for the newer ones.

We stayed two nights because we were meeting a tour group. Entering from a dirt road among poor quality housing, you enter a haven of green tranquility. Helpful reception staff, nice rooms and bathrooms, good swimming pool, wifi near the pool but not in the rooms. Restaurant is good enough, nothing special, but good breakfast buffet.

A magnificant garden, great hospitality, good food. Fantastic place to stay for more than a couple of days! You don't expect this quality when you enter the area. Owners are interested and very friendly, like the staff. Nice, big pool with service. Menu with all kinds of food, even european ( dutch...!!). But it really feels like Africa, not like a fancy hotel which could be in any continent.

Room Tip: A lodge in the garden is like a dream come true!
