I cannot speak more highly of this place. From the moment you walk through the front entrance you are made to feel at home by all of the amazing staff. Because this is a small resort you get the personal touch and for what you pay it's more than worth it. The rooms are beautiful and well equipped. The pool is nice, the views are gorgeous but nothing compares to the staff here. They are wonderful and are the reason I will go back.

This small resort has it all ... best location, brilliant staff and supremely comfortable rooms. We could not find fault on any count.

A word of advice is necessary however about Khao Lak itself. Regrettably the place is unforgivably neglected .There appears to be no interest in keeping the place relatively clean - free from rubbish, weeds and dirt.Crumbling footpaths. We have visited many developing areas in and around SE Asia ...all with their own set of challenges but it still surprised us to see the miserable condition of this town despite the opportunities to rebuild and renew after the tsunami and the aide money that was given for this purpose. Where has the money gone ?

If you have decided on Khao Lak as your destination, staying at the Chongfah is the best decision you could make

We stayed here 23rd July for 3 nights and loved this boutique resort. The staff were fabulous and so accommodating. The weather wasn't the best due to monsoon rains but luckily we had a room overlooking the water so we were able to watch the torrential rain storms sweep across the ocean. Moved to a large resort at Kata Noi and are very sorry we split our time between both.

Room Tip: By the water.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chong Fah. We stayed in a beach side villa and it was all that we expected and more. The staff were very attentive and although there English was at times limited they did all they could to make our stay an enjoyable one. The transfers we booked were prompt and comfortable with cool drinks on board. I spent most of my time in our outdoor spa while my husband loved the pool. It's in a great spot with a five minute walk to 'Eat street' as we named it for all the different restaurants and there is loads of variety. The food at the resort was lovely and well priced, appealing to both Asian and western palettes. Wonderful hotel, fabulous location, totally relaxing. All correspondence was via email directly through the hotel and was professional and prompt, the even gave us a discount for going through them directly. Thanks Chong Fah for a fabulous week!

Room Tip: If you can afford it book a sea view bungalow, the waves crashing on the beach will lull you to slee...

We were not disappointed! Go to this resort if you want a relaxing quiet time next to the sea with a lovely infinity pool and staff who know your name and go the extra mile. But it is still the most convenient beachside resort for walking to the centre of things like the Bang Niang market ( three times a week) and good restaurants. However you will be tempted to stay at the resort restaurant overlooking the sea where the food is delicious and reasonably priced. The happy hour from 5pm with two cocktails for the price of one is great. We had an upstairs room at the back which was spacious and comfortable ( excellent mattress and pillows) with a large balcony - number 2203. II could recommend it. By the way, there are also free bicycles. Go - you won't regret it.

Room Tip: We enjoyed 2203 upstairs at the back. You don't need to pay extra for the front row.

Having read all growing reports on Tripadvisor, we decided to book this hotel for our family and friends. Upon arrival, lack of service already began. We had a lot of baggages, but no one came to help us and so had to take care of them ourselves. Rooms were ok, a little old, it was a nice bed, nice sheets and great pillows. It is a peaceful location and right on the beach. Breakfast buffet was just ok. For a hotel that was almost empty, you would have hoped for a little attentiveness. I can only assume that the senior management were on leave this weekend and so the staff thought they would take a holiday as well. To finish the weekend off in style, upon arrival they had already charged my credit card for two rooms, which we only found out when leaving, as we expected to pay for the tab along with the room. But no, they wanted the tab paid in cash! As they had charged for two rooms, we then had to wait two weeks for the refund.
Maybe better luck next time...........

Room Tip: Upper floor is better, less mosquitoes. Semi detached bungalows are connected by a door, which is co...

My husband and I spent five days in the hotel.
The breakfast was very good, with many options of bread, cereals, dried and natural fruits, omelet, and also a Chinese/Thai breakfast option. The waiters were nice and helpful.
The restaurant was beachfront, so you have an amazing view of the ocean, and birds from the region. Quiet and peaceful.
The infinity pool is beautiful. During the afternoon, there is a discount on drinks - 2 for 1!
Our cabana wasn't beach front, but we had a patio with two chairs and a table. In the backyard there was an open shower, and a bath tub. The bathroom is big, the bed very comfortable, and good air conditioning.
There are plenty of chairs and sunshades beachfront available during the daytime, where you can have your drink or food.
The hotel offers massage for a good price, but just beside the hotel, there is a beachfront massage for a great price.
Also, the hotel has a special dinner once a week. They decorate the place and put the buffet close to the pool, with waiters for each type of food. They also do some fire entertainment when preparing some dishes (very dangerous for children who are watching, the fire goes with the wind in the watchers' direction. It seems like they do not care to much with safety). Arrive really early, we arrived 30 minutes late and ended up not trying some dishes and deserts (there isn't enough food for everybody).
Bottled water was available everyday.
There are free bikes available.
The hotel is walking distance to restaurants and stores (less than 10 minutes).
If you want to visit another beaches, do some day trips, the hotel manages it for you at a competitive price.
Overall, it is a nice place!
