What an amazing hotel the Sarojin is. My husband and I are over 65 and have stayed in many hotels over the world and is definitely one of the best. It is extremely well managed by Dawid who is delightful and welcoming. All the staff are well looked after and consequently they all seem genuinely happy to work there and seem like a big happy family.
All the positive comments written by other reviewers are true and there is not much else we can add. Every little detail has been thought of i.e. beach basket, a torch, mosquitto repellent and even English adaptors!
We were there for six days and did 3 excusions organised by Ben and Maria - thanks you two. Jack escorted us on the elephant trip and a bamboo rafting trip. Nam, whose English was excellent took us on a "local life" morning which was very interesting. Last but not least we went on the Lady Sarojin for a snorkelling trip with Mo. Swam with a turtle in warm, turquoise waters. Mo was so attentative and the lunch on board was really something special.
Unlike some hotels there was never a problem getting a lounger round the pool or on the beach and constant supplies of iced water and water melon was an added bonus.
Alex and A who welcomed us and waved us off are typical of all the friendly staff and we thank you all.

Room Tip: we had a pool room no 106 and loved it

Only stayed here for 5 nights but had a wonderful time. The breakfast was incredible and you could order it whenever you wanted through out the day which was a nice touch. Beach was lovely and you could walk for miles the only problem was that there were some jellyfish in the sea. The excursion guide was really useful and we cycled to a nearby waterfall. Overall a great experience and a brilliant holiday!

Lovely hotel on a lovely beach. Staff are excellent and very helpful. Attention to detail is very good and service is excellent both in the hotel and on the beach. It is a quiet and discrete hotel in a tranquil setting. Khao Lak s 20 min away and the hotel runs a shuttle service there and there are plenty of places to eat that are a lot cheaper than the hotel if you want a change. Excellent hotel on a lovely beach with little bars on to visit and eat if you wish.

I must start this report by saying that we stayed at the Sarojin during November for our honeymoon. We experienced the following issues during our stay:

- The majority of hotel staff had little understanding of English, this made it an effort each time we had to ask anyone a question. To compound this, there was no Concierge at the hotel, all questions had to be asked at reception and they had problems understanding what we were saying.
- The so called ‘hot tub’ on the patio had ice cold water, this meant we could not use it.
- The patio doors had holes to their sides, this allowed insects directly into our room. During our first night, as well as smaller flying inspects we also had to share our room with a giant size bee and a bullfrog. I appreciate that we were staying in a tropical climate however if doors have holes then it is inevitable that unwelcome guests will enter the room – we had no such experiences at the other resorts we stayed.
- Bed sheets were dirty and the room was not always cleaned properly
- The breakfast was a la carte, the service was slow and took at least half an hour to arrive once ordered.
- The air-conditioning didn’t work properly.
- The grass areas around the pool seemed to be constantly flooded meaning we had to walk on an inconvenient path to get around the hotel.
- The beach was very poor. It was narrow and there were an insufficient number of chairs. Sun loungers were arranged too close to each other, i.e. not very relaxing.
- The excursion guide wasn’t very helpful, and had difficulty with English. We were invited for a welcome drink with the excursion guide the day we arrived. However, he did not turn up – we were left to ask staff at the beach bar where he was only to be told he had gone off on an excursion – we asked but it was never explained why were we invited for a drink if he wasn’t to be there.
- The hotel had very little atmosphere, at times we felt as if we were vacationing in a library not a hotel.

Initially, we raised these matters with the Deputy Manager, who was extremely apologetic and offered us a complimentary dinner and an excursion of our choice – an offer that we said we would accept as he was genuine in his apology and, in reality, we had little alternative.

However, we were then very surprised to be called for a meeting with the General Manager, who took a very different view to the problems we had experienced and told us, in no uncertain terms, that the hotel would NOT provide the complimentary dinner and excursion offered by his deputy. Instead, he suggested that we simply agree to change rooms. We found his manner to be arrogant, offensive and unprofessional both in the way he spoke down to us and the fact that we were Honeymooning guests. After an upsetting exchange he said ‘Oh ok fine you can have dinner if you want…. BUT NO DRINKS!'.

The manager also said to us “we’re proud that we’re not like a six senses”. Well maybe if you were then you would be a half decent hotel!

In summary it’s a lifeless hotel and not worth the money. There are enough quality 5* hotels in Thaliand to stay that are better value for money that respect their guests. Book somewhere else.

Due to high occupancy upon arrival the reviewer was fortunate to receive an upgrade, at no additional cost, to a Sarojin Suite.

Unfortunately, the reviewer had ongoing issues with the resort and that despite concerted efforts and considerable time spent by the resort management and the staff team, these could not be resolved to the satisfaction of the reviewer.

Such an outcome is extremely rare as the majority of our reviews show, and disappointing for all concerned.

Regards,
Anthony

We chose your hotel as part of our ‘Baby moon’ and to say that we were delighted is an understatement.

From the moment that their driver picked us up, the warm welcome and attention to detail really excited us about our stay. The welcome we received to the hotel was warm and comforting just like arriving at a friends house (although none of my friends have homes like this)

The hotel it’s self is a wonderful location, the room was fantastic, the grounds and beach were amazing with wonderful attention to detail.

The sole of the hotel for me lay with the excellent team that they have, who are a credit to the Sarojin. Their attitude was amazing and can only come from people who feel that they are a valued part of the team.

The Spa was lovely and Joe couldn’t have done more to help us and even came to reception to say good bye when we were leaving.
The pool, Kob runs the pool by putting in the maximum of effort so that you don’t have to.
The Edge, beach restaurant is fantastic, wonderful food, setting and Atmosphere. Wruth and the team are engaging and thoughtful to every detail
Tom and Jack on the beach did everything they could to make sure that my wife and I were comfortable and that isn’t easy with a lady whose 5 months pregnant is in 35 degree heat.
The all day breakfast is an inspired idea, Alexandra, Mon, O, Lucky and the team couldn’t have been more attentive, and the food of course was delicious! (a common theme throughout the hotel)
On our final night we had dinner on the beach, this is a dinner that will stay in my memory for a lifetime. The team spent hours setting up the beach, with what must have been 300 candles, drift wood, dining area and seats. With our own private chef and the most attentive waiter Opus, the food was amazing and setting wonderful.
We genuinely felt like valued guests from the moment that we were picked up to the moment that we were dropped at the airport.

The touches such as the drinks reception on the beach through to the insect repellent on the tables etc, were all wonderful.
The experience of the hotel and the staff was one of the best we’ve had all over the world.

I would unreservedly recommend this hotel as a fantastic relaxing break.

A wonderfully relaxing environment, with great staff
who will do anything they can for you - always with a smile, and good food
and wine whenever you want it!

We holidayed just before Christmas, both in need of some good relaxing time
out, and had a great stay here. From pick-up at the airport in your
personal jeep, with cold towels and drinks, through to day excursions to see
elephants and go out snorkelling, everything was handled with finesse. Yes
the excursions are a bit more expensive than doing it through a tour
operator in Khao Lak but worth every penny; you're looked after brilliantly,
have delicious food and drinks laid on, and the lack of hordes of people is
a joy, particularly on the boat trip which you take on a very nice speed
boat and get to do some snorkelling others don't.

If you wanted to be really really picky you could find tiny things to pick
the hotel up on but it would generally be about personal preferences on
things rather than glaring problems, and taking them to an absolutely
faultless level, and I haven't found that anywhere yet ... Both of us are used to staying in
very nice hotels and eating in good restaurants and can be quite fussy, and
genuinely can't fathom how people could rate the hotel anything other than
'excellent' or 'very good' on TripAdvisor!

If you want a fantastically relaxing time, with good amenities on hand, a
beautiful and peaceful environment with a lovely pool and beach and great
staff to help you make the really 'tough' decision of 'beach or pool' today
then don't hesitate to book The Sarojin.

Room Tip: We stayed in a suite, great for a couple of hours chill-out. Ask for one off the road-side.
