“An incredible relaxing oasis in a beautiful country”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

We visited the Sarojin for our honeymoon during April this year (2014) and we had the most incredible time there. All the staff are so friendly and always ready to help and the managers wonder around the hotel chatting with the guests which was a really nice touch. The location is out of this world. The hotel is about 15 minutes north of Khao Lak so it's very quiet and tranquil.

We stayed in a pool residence which was amazing, the private pool and garden were great and as we were on our honeymoon we received a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine on arrival and some great bed decorations throughout our stay including an elephant!

Breakfast runs from 6:30am to 6:30pm which is a great idea. The menu is a la carte but you can order as much as you like.....the food is fantastic, their waffles were so good I had them every morning! Breakfast is served at the Ficus restaurant which is situated on the side of a Lotus pond so you can sit right on the waters edge. After breakfast they serve a European menu during the evening which again is fantastic and very tasty. Their other restaurant is called The Edge which is set on the beach and serves Thai food, we had some cocktails there a couple of times but we didn't eat, however the menu looked very comprehensive and very tasty.

The main pool is really large and never felt too busy, in fact the hotel only has about 52 rooms so the whole resort didn't feel busy at all. Down one edge of the pool they have 3 pool pavilions which if you can get one are great as they give you give you more space to yourself and you're surrounded by water. The staff bring ice cold water to you on a regular basis which is just what you need in that climate.

My wife visited Pathways Spa which is part of the hotel and she had a 2 hour massage which apparently was on of the best massages she has ever had, high praise indeed!.

The hotel is on a beach called Pakweep Beach and many including me think it's the nicest beach in the area, it has white sand and wonderfully blue sea which is perfect for swimming in as it's sheltered by Pakarang Cape. Watersports at the hotel are complementary so I enjoyed a couple of hours of sailing and again the staff were very attentive and one of them came out on the boat with me. There are a few restaurants along the beach, there are two right outside the hotel which do really good food at very good prices but further down the beach to the south there is a restaurant called the Boatyard which was originally built to help the local fisherman repair or rebuild their boats after the tsunami struck, they now do great food and it's wonderful to watch the sunset over a cold bottle of Chang and/or a glass of wine!

Overall The Sarojin is a must for anyone visiting the Khao Lak area as it is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in, it is very personal, very beautiful, very tranquil and very friendly. As well as the hotel, Khao Lak has much to offer including a few national parks and quickest way to the Similan islands and some of the most beautful beaches in Thailand!

We were in Thailand for 2 weeks, touring the north during first week and down to the Sarojin for the second week....as it was our 30th wedding anniversary we decided to renew our vows. With regards to the hotel itself agree with earlier reviews, fantastic setting, marvellous staff and quality of food superb....we had one of the garden residence room which was very spacious. The bathroom was amazing albeit a tad too open plan for my liking.
The renewal of vows ceremony was wonderful, magnificent setting on the beach and the staff went more than the extra mile to make us feel very special...a big thank you to Maria and her team. We finished off the day with canapés and champagne on the beach watching the sunset. We will have many great memories of our stay at the Sarojin.....would highly recommend

Fabulous holiday we stayed for 15 nights in a garden room, beautiful ,spacious , spotless all your needs catered for in the room, beautifully landscaped gardens, ponds and little streams running through, occasional monitor lizards, land crabs.Great breakfast menu, everything cooked to order and wonderful peaceful surroundings.2 restaurants the Ficus for breakfast, evening meals & A la carte & the Edge overlooking the beach for evening meals, lunch & drinks. All the staff are excellent, always smiling & helpful. Excellent menus in both restaurants, wonderful food yes it is slightly more expensive than eating out but quality and service more than make up for it, we only ate out three times and were disappointed.
Fabulous beach , long golden sands it was 36Deg in March whilst we were there and the sea and the pool were nearly as hot. Always plenty of beds and umbrellas on the beach and the staff very attentive with iced water all day and melon in the afternoon. Cocktails Happy Hour at 5.30 waiting for the sun to set. A truly peaceful and relaxing experience in a 1st class Hotel.

Room Tip: All the rooms are set out to give privacy with shrubs and plants, but are not dark, we stayed in roo...

Thank you so much to The Sarojin for the most incredible honeymoon. Couldn't fault the staff, the rooms and the resort was just how it looked in the pictures - stunning. We thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails on the beach each night, and were impressed at the activities on offer. The breakfast was the most amazing breakfast we have ever had in our lives and was a highlight each morning. We will definitely be returning in a few years for an anniversary!

Room Tip: All the rooms looked fabulous, we had a garden room and it was great.

Very rarely do I post reviews but must say I had to this time! Very impressed with the Sarojin. It truly was a tranquil and surreal place, sometimes too quite. It was like being in your own little paradise. The staff make this Hotel complete. It is expensive in the hotel but outside you can eat and drink for next to nothing. Average cost for us, 2 adult, 2 teenagers was around £160 in hotel (2 course and just a couple of beers) and in Bang Yiang, the closest town was £38 and that was with wine, beer and cocktails... Crazy!! Only 2 other bars/restaurants are within walking distance so we pretty much got a taxi or shuttle bus into town which has some really nice back street places to eat great Thai food! It is nice though to eat at the Hotel as the food is amazing and to sit and have cocktails whilst the sun sets was lovely. Do take a trip out on the Sarojin boat... We did the Similian Islands with another family and it was excellent!! One of the best snorkelling trips I've done. We did want to do this privately but to hire boat for this was 54,000 bt, around £1000 which I thought was expensive but sharing boat only cost us £600 and actually was a lot of fun. We had the Sarojin Suite, room 708 and could not fault it apart from a few visitors during the night... frogs! They were cute though and no harm' just pick them up and pop them back out. I absolutely recommend this hotel and all the other reviews on here are true to there word. Enjoy!

Unfortunately we were only able to book 1 night at Sarojin but this single day exceeded all our expectations. The nice tropical garden creates an oasis around the pool and all rooms are well hidden behind plants. We stayed at a garden room as with the gorgeous pool and beach you really don't need to put a private pool on the top. The hotel is in a quite bay with turquoise water and long stretching white sand beach and due to limited rooms you never feel any crowds disturbing the silence. The garden room was huge with everything you need to enjoy your stay, great furniture and bright interior with plenty of light. The staff was extremely friendly and always ready for a short chat about the place or surrounding. Living for many years in Thailand and coming from a small country we were amazed seeing Austrian wine on their drink menu and Austrian jam for break fast. Wow. In general the 6 am to 6 pm breakfast was outstanding with great fresh brewed coffee, tasty bread, all kind of fruit and vegetable juices and much much more. Guess we breathed the spirit of Sarojin from the very first moment we entered the property. There're very few hotels in Thailand we think to return and Sarojin is definitely one of these gems. A special place with special people serving you with passion and dedication. Hard to find now-a-days in the fast moving tourism industry. Keep this spirit. You definitely get much more compared to what you pay for it.

We were at Sarojin at the end of March till th first week of April. I must first say how excellent and amazing and smiley the people are at Sarojin; Kade,Alex,Naho,Sak,Mon,Jack,Tom and others which I cannot remember their names. For us everything was beyond excellent. The most stroke us was to learn that the Sarojin supports a local orphanage and the camillian centre (for down syndrome kids) and we asked them to take us with; which we have tried to support a bit as well. Food was perfect, environment was excellent, service perfect, elephant tour which they arranged for us was amazing, the Sarojin boat trip was so perfect that we want to do that again, massage at pathways was like a heaven. Already missed a lot to feel like a queen again.
