We stayed (and still we are for 3 days ) in this hotel and really one of the best place even in Thailand we found .
We usually wnet to sea view resort in Koh Chang and this year we decided to change for this Ramada Resort .
The staff is one of the best i saw in my life and am travelling 3 times month for business in 4 or 4 stars hotels in MEA , cleanless , services all is top 100 ; location is wonderful too , fare away of touristic place a very very quiet place ...
Breakfast is really good , and restaurant for dinner you can also , honestly we prefer used the small restaurant on the beach or on the main road it's more typical but it's our choice too . Just one restaurant to avoid near of hotel is the pizzeria Pinochio , stay fare away ... screw people and really bad !!
We will come back for sure next year !!

We stayed at the Ramada following a great deal from Travelzoo. We booked an ocean front villa which was great value. The room was spacious and clean with all required amenities. The beach front restaurant was still being renovated so meals were either in the main restaurant or room service. Staff are very friendly and helpful. A highlight was the Turtle Conservation Park tour. We will definitely return for a wind down from busy work schedules.

Room Tip: Upgrage if you get the chance.

The hotel is not due to be fully open again until 1st sept. Beach bar shut and also thai and italian restaurant by the beach. No atmosphere and all shut up by 10 at night. I'm no party animal but what hotel has nowhere to buy a drink past 10 at night? Contacyed the hotel by email before arriving and got no reply about what was closed. Disappointing.

We'd booked the Ramada after reading a few other TA reviews. Its certainly a sound choice, with good big rooms, comfy beds and a good bathroom. The grounds are very pleasant and the pool is clean good for the kids. The staff are very attentive and helpful and it was certainly a relaxing stay.
I do feel though that some of the other TA reviews on here may be a bit over the top though in their glowing affection for the Ramada. Yes its a nice hotel, but if I'm being honest, its really not a stand out, more of a "by the numbers" resort, thats a little short on gardens, an overly expensive spa (oh alright I never use them anyway!) and a rather bland breakfast with all the usual euro-stars lie sausages and eggs, but not enough variety for my likeing in the asian breakfast department.
So in summary, a good hotel, you couldnt go wrong booking here... but its a safe bet on a by the numbers smallish resort... I have a feeling if I'd looked harded I could have found better, despite the high TA ranking...

I cannot speak highly enough of the Ramada Resort Khao Lak. We loved it all - the beach frontage, the pool, the suite, the King sized bed and comfy pillows, LCD TV with free cable, the free WiFi (and internet cafe), the gym, our own deck with clothes rack and lounge chairs with direct access to the pool. The buffet breakfasts were just incredible and were included free in our accommodation package. The 'off season' proved to be perfect for us - the value was amazing and offered a more relaxed atmosphere. We actually enjoyed the contrast of sunny days and steamy rainstorms offered by the monsoon season. But what really sets the Ramada apart from anywhere else we have stayed are the staff. Everyone was just so happy, warm and welcoming, caring and attentive - we felt like royalty! All the special little touches. Icy fruit mocktail on arrival. Pool staff to lay out fresh towels on a lounge chair for us every morning and put up our beach umbrella. The restaurant staff who remembered our special iced coffee order with breakfast every morning. Nothing was too much trouble. We can't wait to come back.
Bang Niang and Khao Lak area offered everything we were looking - nature tours, restaurants, shops and bars, Thai massage - without the craziness of the popular tourists areas. We actually got to know and spend time with many local people which just added to our wonderful experience. We had a night at Khao Sok National Park staying in a raft house on Lake Chiewlarn ...... just gorgeous.

After a week-long conference in Hong Kong, my husband and I knew we wanted to take a relaxing trip somewhere in Asia. Following exhaustive research, we settled on Khao Lak and the Ramada Resort, in large part due to many of the comments made here on tripadvisor.

We were not disappointed. This is a first class property with wonderful facilities and, perhaps more importantly, a staff that is out of this world. My husband commented on the last day that it was the type of service you get on an excellent cruise line. Friendly, always smiling and always making sure you want for nothing...we simply can't say enough about the entire staff. Such a pleasure to find a place where the art of customer service is at such a high level.

We knew that we were going in low season. Lots of rain, no swimming in the ocean and a lot of tours, facilities would be closed. This did not dampen our experience, but should be taken into consideration when making your reservation. The others staying at the resort were all friendly -- a nice family atmosphere.

We opted for the ocean front villa. What a magnificent choice. Private and lovely. The bed was big and comfy and the bathroom was luxurious with a spa tub, separate and large shower, two vanities and separate toilet area. Just a wonderful place to call home for the five days we were there. We also decided to get half board, which included breakfast and dinner. Breakfast buffet was great with plenty of choices, including made to order eggs. Dinner was marvelous. We were given a "special menu" that was chuck full of choices. My fear is that we would have three or four choices -- nope, from Thai to Western, we could have eaten dinner for a month and still not had the same meal. We stuck with Thai -- and it was excellent. Chef Nit knows his stuff and ran the kitchen with much skill. Sassi's, the beach club restaurant, was undergoing renovations -- so we ate all our meals at The Kitchen, which was more than adequate -- a very delightful room in the main part of the hotel. It was like coming together with a huge family every morning and evening -- such a nice, resort feel (in the absolute best way).

We had a wonderful experience with the tour desk. We rented a private taxi one day to take us to Phuket for shopping (about $100 USD for 8 hours) and the next day we took the Amazing 3 Temples tour -- again, we were the only ones, so we had a private tour that included a driver and an English-speaking guide. What a day! We actually went to 4 temples and visited a Sea Turtle Conservation facility. Simply an awesome day. I highly recommend this tour.

I could imagine this facility in high season and would like to visit again sometime October through March -- but we were very pleased with our experience in July. And without an ounce of reservation, wholeheartedly recommend Ramada Resort Khao Lak for families, couples, everyone.

Thank you for such a wonderful trip that we'll keep in our memories for a lifetime!

Room Tip: Ocean front villa is great!

Had a great family holiday at the Ramada. Nice big clean modern rooms with free wireless internet. Nice pool, and direct access to the beach although swimming not always recommended during rainy season. Good breakfast with plenty choice. Extremely helpful and friendly staff which made a real difference. Had looked forward to having breakfast “on the beach”, and was a little disappointed that Sassi’s restaurant was undergoing renovation when we were there. Would definitely stay at the Ramada if coming back to Khao Lak.
