“Most amazing stay we had with AMAZING people”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2013

This would be our third time back at the Ramada resort and it just keeps on getting better. This time round we had travelled with our daughter who turned one and from the very beginning to the end we felt every bit welcomed. The staff at the Ramada are fantastic; Each one was very friendly and accommodating plus ALWAYS smiling. Our room was perfect for what we requested. Having a one year old daughter and using a baby monitor whilst she was asleep worked really well. We highly recommend the use of babysitting and the staff once again bend over backwards. The food - 10/10 Our meals were always delicious and the kids menu was brilliant. The pool staff have been fantastic; each day our towels were brought out and there were times when it rained and the pool staff saved our items from being wet whilst we were away. One night we had the opportunity to dine and had a romantic dinner on the beach - WOW! We had an amazing set up with lights and flowers and the service was spectacular. We could not speak anymore highly about our stay and no doubt we will be coming back as soon as we can! Once again, thank you to all the staff at the resort- it's you guys that make it the most enjoyable place to stay and you deserve the recognition. Until next time, we will be looking at many photos and preparing myself for a run with Michael next time we return! For people who want to experience a holiday with an experience of a life time - look no further.

Stayed here in April 2013. It is about an hour out of Phuket. It is a no mans town. We arrived at night and the greeting from the staff was amazing. We got cold towels and cold drinks. We woke up to find an amazing view of the beach. Chilling around the pool bar was awesome and the beach restaurants were so cheap! We didn't eat at the hotel we just walked up and down the beach and had dinner on the beach. I would recommend this hotel :)

We are just back from a fantastic holiday. We spent 7 nights at the Ramada resort with a group of friends. To stay there was a pleasure for us. It is a beautiful place with caring staff, nice, spacious, very clean rooms, beautiful surroundings : pool, restaurants, beach...
We highly recommend this place for a perfect holiday !

My husband and I stayed here for 7 nights in April to celebrate our first wedding anniversary.

Pros: We booked a pool villa which wasn't quite ready when we arrived so we were given complimentary coffee while we waited which was nice.

The pool villa was fantastic! Very spacious and a great sized pool which was wonderful given the hot and sunny weather we had during our stay.

The villa and pool are very private also which is a huge plus.

The location of the ramada is great and is walking distance to heaps of local restaurants (this is a huge benefit as the resort food is pricey and fairly average) and also the Bang Niang markets.

The breakfast buffet is exceptional - the best I've ever seen! Lots to choose from and great to see it changes every day.

Spa was great and very reasonably priced (much cheaper than home in Aus!). Spent half a day there and was so relaxed I almost floated away.

The staff decorated our bed on our anniversary and filled our spa with flowers which was a nice touch.

Staff were friendly and genuinely seemed to care about their guests.

And now for the cons:

Pool villa lighting was pretty poor - even with all the lights on, it was still dark.

Pool didn't appear to get cleaned and there was a lot of grit in the bottom of it.

The smell of the recycled water they use to water the grounds has a rather pungent odour but do appreciate that they are trying to save water.

Our airport transfer organised through the hotel didn't arrive to pick us up when we checked out. Luckily, they got one of their bellboys to drive us in the ramada van (which was nicer than what we arrived in!)

Communication was not the strong point of this resort and this resulted in a huge blunder that severely affected our opinion of the resort. We had booked the private romantic dinner for our anniversary - it was a big deal for us given it was our first anniversary. There was no communication from staff about the dinner - I had to chase them down to confirm it which is pretty poor. When we arrived for the dinner, there was no one to greet us, the table had insects all over it and it was as far from romantic or private as I can imagine. The set up had 4 candles in total - unlike the pictures they promote which has them all around the table. There was a giant spot light shining on the table and the table was placed relatively close to other diners. To make matters worse, there was a bar set up right next to where our tables were, plus a show going on at the resort restaurant which was so loud that it was all you could hear. We ended up cancelling the dinner as we were so upset and disappointed and went to a local restaurant - sad to say the ambiance was better there! I think management should make people aware that the private dinner is located right in front of the restaurant and provide some photos on their website that actually reflect the set up because what they are selling is not what we received.

Up until this, we had been very happy with the resort but unfortunately, we wouldn't return because of the debacle with our anniversary dinner.

I would still recommend the hotel to others, especially families and anyone that isn't interested in private dining.

Dear Jocus,
Sunny Greetings from Ramada Resort Khao Lak.
Thank you for staying with us and sharing your experience with others.
All the cons mentioned have been noted for improvement and we do apology that the Romantic Dinner did not meet your expectations. The weather conditions force us to set up closer to the restaurants that our guests are able to seek protection in case of unexpected Monsoon rain.
Beaches in Thailand are public and we cannot avoid that people pass by.
My team has looked for you to offer you a private dinner in your Pool Villa but could not locate you.The Pools are cleaned regularely and water quality PH and Chlorine levels are checked as per Standard. Thanks for the comment regarding the Pool Villa lighting which we will improve accordingly. We do hope you give us a second chance and i will ensure that it will be as smooth as silk. Sincerley, Michael Vorderleitner, GM & Team

We (my wife, 6 and 4 year old children, and myself) stayed for 7 nights at the Ramada and we couldn't have been happier with the resort. The included Buffet Breakfast was fantastic and plentiful, and the afternoon tea was delicous (and very naughty).

Our room was very comfortable and certainly big enough to accomodate the 4 of us. The staff were very friendly and attentive and helped to make our stay fantastic. The pool was superb (if not a little warm in temp) and hardly ever seemed crowded, even though the resort was fully booked.

The location of the resort was great as there were great restaurants and fun bars within a 5-10min stroll and shops that provided more than adequtes supplies to stock up on.

We would definately recommend The Ramada Khao Lak to anyone, especially if you have a young family and you just want to relax!

When arrived ramada resort & hotel, the first impression is it's beautiful scenery & great service mind. The hotel and rooms are beautively decorated & modern- comfortable & very clean. Location is lovely and relaxing with a nice long beach view. Staffs are friendly and helpful. They always smile even cook, waiter & waitress. Dinner was great taste & fresh. The breakfast buffet makes me & family enjoyed eating in the morning with varieties of food. I would recomend this hotel for a nice relaxing end to your holiday. Worth for money & time spend. Would definitely stay again.
