Ang Sila Old Market 133 Years

Go about 4-5pm to grab fresh prawns/squid/oysters. Find a spot on the beach and bbq the squid & prawns without marination or seasoning. ...out of this world !...especially if you top it up with a peaty Islay malt !! Bernard

Worth checking out for an hour or so on the way to Bang Saen beach or Khao Sam Muk. Eat at the seafood restaurants on the jetty, with the day's catch being unloaded right there. Then walk up the road lined with stalls selling the famous Ang Sila mortar and pestles (the local stone has all been mined out, but they still make them) plus little stone statues that would make a lawn ornament different from the usual garden gnomes and frogs. Walk back to your car at the jetty via the back alleys with houses a century old and some small but interesting Chinese temples.
