I stayed for three nights during a business trip to Surat Thani. The hotel is about five-minute drive from the town center, so it might be the choice for someone who would like to remain close to town but also would like to avoid the crowded streets. There is a small shop in the hotel, and there is a 7-11 convenience store at a nearby gas station, so you can easily get the necessities.
The room is clean but very basic, with a TV, a fridge, a desk, and an air-conditioner. (There is no dressing table, though -- just a full-length mirror attached to a wall.) The breakfast items are of good variety, especially oriental food (porridge, curry, stir-fried veggies, traditional Thai snacks, fried bun, etc). Those who require Western-styled breakfast may be disappointed.
The major weakness is that, when required to stay on the upper floors, the lack of elevators and the height of staircases could present a problem for people with heavy belongings or the elderly.
