This is just a small, one-woman operated, café-type, small restaurant in an old, typically Samui Chinese shophouse; it goes from the road right the way through to a cute little patio setting right beside the sea, wonderful in the right weather. It clearly had been recently redecorated and was very bright, airy and clean. The 'one-woman' is a young, lovely and cheerful Thai lady by the name of 'Cherry' who has quite the most charming of smiles and personality to match. She speaks very good English and nothing appeared to be too much trouble for her, especially answering our numerous inane questions about her menu. Because it was a one-person operation we both chose the same dish, one of her specialities, massaman beef curry, which we asked to be 'not so spicey!': it was really delicious, and we could not think of a previous time when we had been so surprised by the intense and numerous different flavours in one particular dish. With two drinks, the meal for two worked at less than £3.00 in total, just such good value. Cherry was an excellent host and cook of course, but was soon rushed off her feet by an influx of other tourists who'd spied us sitting there. Although it could be a bit noisy in the main dining area with traffic rushing past, sitting out the back next to the sea was like being worlds away and just idyllic. At such great value, and with such a charming host and good cook, we will be going back very shortly.
