I have been here when they were rebuilding and that was ofcourse a bit noisy but now that things are all finished the place is really nice again. Good rooms with nice view over the ocean very extensive breakfast of good quality and the service is professional and staff helpfull. The price was pretty good for what you get and if you are looking for a decent 3 star hotel for a few days this really fits the bill. Everything (Rooms, swimmingpool) is new so it still really looks nice.

Location is also good as many restaurants and pubs on a walking distance.

The Long Beach is a great hotel and the breakfast buffet is extensive; plenty of choice for both Thai and foreigner along with in-house bakery German style breads. Most of the hotel has been recently renovated and the rooms nicely upgraded.
However, check the net for other renovations ongoing. If booking a room right now, insist on a room that is not 'North-facing' as some construction is incomplete on this side.
The staff at the hotel are great and deal with requests promptly. Over the new year, all the staff were great and so friendly, given that they are working and you are not.
Third trip here and I will make it a fourth sometime ... good all round place to stay when in Cha-Am.

Room Tip: Pool View is the best given above comments.

Stayed for 3 nights, pleasant experience. Newly renovated, large, clean rooms. Good location, about 100m to the beach. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is ok, but not much selection for wedtern palate. Will stay there again. Good value for the money.

location ok,close to beach, many nice resturants nearby, quiet, great buffe.small swimming pool but ok.Friendly staff, many thais staying here, weekends mostly fully booked.great hotel.I have been staying here for a couple of times,as they sometimes have very good offers(low sesson).Always enjoyable and friendly. but One rotten apple DOES spoil the whole barrel.
As i checked in,i couldnt help to notice that one of the male recepsionists looked like he had a miserable day or week. There was certantly no famous thai smile there, the thai smile came later from this unfriendly character when i asked for a safety box.He was in charge of the safety boxes.I had alot of notes, which i counted infront of him before, locking the box, getting the second safety key(there is 2,one for staff, and one for customers,so both parts have to cooporate to open,i thought).Stayed here a few days, party, friends having a good time, sometimes maybee a few beer to mutch and late arrivals....he would always be there watching miserably of others happines.
So check out time.....Hey the miserable guy is smiling and offering service?we open the box,i get the money....but what?its missing close to 10 000 thai bath here???hes smiling more.Wishing me good trip...?Now there is 3 choices, confront him-he will deny and get angry(thai way)2-confront and get hotel manager(he might get fired or lose in salary)3-get over it and walk away.I did the last option,as i been vacationing to cha-am randomly for the last 15 years and still are going to do this in the future, without looking over my back while enjoing a cold beer.He spots me night time after complain im having trouble indeed, even day time. This is the famous lose of face thai way, dont try it.Im not paranoid, but i have seen this on several occations all over thailand. This is probably not the first time he does help himself, maybee he have a gambling problem etc.
Dont trust the boxes even 2 keys, and dont show money, sealed envelope or some kind of traveling kit with personal key or code to store it in the box ,i recommend.
I realy hope he got discovered and fired....

LongBeach Cha-am is the best value for money on the beach. I have been coming here for years either by myself or with friends and family. Though it is an older-than-most establishment, it has been kept up pretty well. They renovate it every five years or so. Last time I was here was in May 2013 and the renovation was just finished. So all the rooms looked new to me (except for the elevator!). The best things about this hotel are the excellent breakfast and the helpful and courteous staff. The restaurant on the second floor has a good a-la-carte menu as well. When I stay there, I usually eat at the hotel though there are several cheaper food shops nearby.
This does not mean I have not tried other places. Because of my work, there were times I had to stay at a nicer-looking hotel nearby, but the service was poor and the restaurant is open to the sand and wind--which is not very hygienic. One time I could not stand the old, thin and torn towels they gave me at that hotel and I moved to stay at LongBeach though I needed to pay for it by myself.. I also complained to my organizer about this.
The tip: If you are to stay to relax and want to live a quiet life for a few days, come to LongBeach. When you make a reservation, ask for a higher floor and a room that was on the beach side. I often request a suite with enough space to set up a work station at the far end of the bedroom so that I can separate work and resting areas.
In general, Cha-am is for a much peaceful stay. If you want actions and excitement, drive to HuaHin--which is only 20 minutes away. That is what I usually do. Get a room at LongBeach and get to HuaHin whenever I want some excitement.

Room Tip: If you are here to relax and want to live a quiet life for a few days, you make a reservation, ask f...

Have to agree with a previous post,i stayed here in June and will never never ever stay again.I have stayed here a few times in the past but it is now under reconstruction and the hotel management couldn t give a damn about the guests being disturbed by the constant noise.
Workman leering over the balconies at the swimming pool guests, priority is given to large groups of Thais on seminars. Some staff are very good, especially the waiter round the pool !! but there English is poor.
Noise noise noise though is the problem here and it aint going to finish anytime soon, the swimming pool is due to be moved to the back>
Stay away !!!

Room Tip: stay in another hotel
