“Dream vacation resort”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 April 2014

If you are looking for a resort that is kid friendly, secure and professionally run , look no further. The hotel was impeccably clean, the rooms spacious, the pools well designed to meander through the resort and the breakfast spread was impressive.
Highly recommended !

Room Tip: Choose a pool facing room as the view from the garden facing rooms are nothing much.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 April 2014

We've just returned from a family vacation to the Sheraton Hua Hin and my husband, my two year old and I are all raving about how much fun we had and how great the resort was! We did the all-inclusive package that we found on the Sheraton website which includes the full buffet breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks and selected food throughout the day. It was totally worth it because we didn't have to worry at all about what we were going to eat/drink and the price for the all-inclusive package was great.

Our experience broken down::

Transportation: We booked our own taxi through Hua Hin Taxi from Bangkok airport to the resort. They were a pretty good service, and it took us 2.5 hours to get from the airport to the resort on a Wednesday, and then 3 hours to get back to the airport on a Monday Public Holiday. We only had one hiccup with them on the return journey with pickup time.

Pools: The pool at the resort was amazing, huge, winding around basically the whole of the resort with three separate kiddie pools. Two of the kiddie pools were surrounded with a bit of sand which made them really fun to play in. My 2 yo, who is a bit afraid of water, had a great time going from the kiddie pool to the big pool, and soon overcame much of his fear. In the big pool there are areas with jacuzzi jets, and little waterfalls and all sorts of fun things to explore. We didn't get a room with pool access, but those seemed like good options too, but maybe a little less private.

Beach: Although the resort doesn't have any chairs or anything out on the beach, it is definitely still beachfront. They just can't have open access because when the tide comes in, it comes quite high right up to the wall that separates the beach from the resort, and they wouldn't be able to put chairs out like that. But when the tide is out, the beach is gorgeous to walk up and down, there are beautiful sand bars, and all sorts of shells and little crabs and things to see. Don't know if it's safe for swimming though.

Rooms: The rooms were good, clean, comfortable, with high ceilings - the standards you would expect from a Sheraton. We had a gardenview room on the second floor in Building 7 and other than having to climb a set of stairs every time, we have no complaints. We liked how with the layout out of the hotel, it seemed every room/building has easy access to the pool and restaurants. Also since all the buildings are low (no more than 2 stories), it felt like a much more intimate setting. The cleanliness was good and there were always lots of complimentary bottles of water waiting for us after each time the maids stopped in. We had free WiFi anywhere in the resort throughout the stay, not sure if it's complimentary for everyone or just because we had all-inclusive, but the connection was fast and reliable, which is definitely a bonus.

Food: With our all-inclusive, we had the wonderful buffet breakfast every morning which had all the great western & eastern options, plus lunch and dinner and drinks throughout the day. For lunch and dinner, we could choose a starter, main course and dessert. The portions were huge and we quickly realized there was no way we could each do three course meal twice a day, so we shared. Also, my 2 yo had his meals for free with our all inclusive, and he could get a kids meal with each meal too! Kids options were great - fish & chips, pizza, fried rice, spaghetti, burgers, etc. We split our meals among the four restaurants, and went most to InAzia for dinner, and Luna Lanai for lunch, though Salas & The Deck were also nice. When it wasn't lunch or dinner, we had the option with our all-inclusive package of getting snacks like calamari or french fries at the restaurants, but we were so stuffed all the time from the meals, we never really needed to get snacks. And of course, we could get drinks anytime of the day (definitely recommend the young coconut). One tiny drawback was we couldn't order drinks or food by the pool, so we could order drinks at the restaurant and brought them to the pool ourselves and cleaned up after ourselves. This is most easily done from Salas or Luna Lanai because they are closest to the pool.

Staff: All our encounters with the staff were pleasant, and people were very kid-friendly. Some of the servers at the restaurants really were outstanding, asking if we wanted to put in a kids menu order first, and bringing out utensils and things for him.

Kids Club: With the all-inclusive, we had access to the Kids Club. Since our son is only 2, we had to accompany him, but it was still great. There's a big swingset, a couple outdoor trampolines, an outdoor sandbox, and toys and arts & crafts indoors. It was a great way to occupy his time & let him have some fun when he got tired of being at the pool. They also have a kiddie pool in the Kids Club area, but we didn't use it.

One other thing to note is that for the first three days of our six day trip, we chose a perfect time because the resort was practically empty. There were times when it felt like we owned the place, which was fun. But when the weekend came (it happened to be a Thai public holiday long weekend), there was a sudden influx of people and you could feel it a bit among the staff. The pool was still big enough for everyone, and we never had problems finding our favorite lounge chairs open, but definitely at the restaurants, service was slower as the resort filled up and it was a bit more hectic during the buffet breakfast.

I've been on quite a few beach resort vacations all over the world (Bahamas, Jamaica, Panama, Mauritius, Bali, etc.), and this was personally one of my favorite. It was our first real family vacation with our son, and it really couldn't have been a more fun, relaxing, enjoyable trip.

Big enough for a standard room with full of in-room amenities provided. The pool was the high-light, we really had fun. Staff were nice & helpful, smiles always on their face. Special thanks to Ms. Panida, the front desk staff who checked us in & out. she always smiled while taking care of us & provided the rooms as we requested. she made the check in process smooth & easy. will definitely come back again :)

It was our first time at Sheraton Hua Hin (actually it is in Cha-am, not Hua Hin). We chose pool access room, which was perfect. Pool is very very big, like water park. Breakfast was good with variety of selections. There are 2 ATM at the hotel, which was very useful for us. Bars were boring in my opinion. There was no toothbrush in my room, and I had to ask for it. But my wife loved its pool so much, so we may come back to this hotel for pool access room again.

Room Tip: always go for pool access room

Recently returned from holiday in the Sheraton Hua Hin. Everything about the hotel was wonderful with it's snaking lagoon pool opening out to a large pool. We had a lagoon access room which was worth the extra money we paid. The restaurants in the hotel catered for every taste and especially the breakfast buffet which was the most abundant and varied I have ever seen. The hotel is on a small beach which only appears when the tide is out. About 6 miles from Hua Hin serviced by a hotel shuttle bus. At the time my wife and I were there our room had a 3 piece free laundry service which we were told is stopping. We think this is a mistake but this is the only fault we have with this wonderful place. We would love to go back but found the journey to get there a bit too much for us after flying into Bangkok and then the car journey to Hua Hin about 120 miles. This was a great holiday and one to be recommended

Room Tip: Go for the lagoon access rooms and ask for a sunny aspect

Stayed here for 4 nights. Pool is nice, room service is generally quick. But they had to be reminded to clean rooms as forgot quite often. I wanted to find out about nearby tours from the concierge to take my six year old son, but the lady there could not speak English and just kept showing a book with tour info but if any question needed answering it was pointless. Just went online and called places myself. Was happy with the Cham ATV ride for an hour where we ended up.

The bugs were extremely unbearable in the room and even after putting the mosquito coil, there were just too any bugs in the room and sleeping was difficult. Have been to many resorts before, but this was bad.

Dear Dubai5555!!,

Thank you very much for sharing your experience during your recent stay at the resort on the positive and not so positive feedback. We will certainly enhance what is good and improve those concerned areas. It is our aim to continuously improve our guests experience so that they will have profound relaxing and comfortable stay.

Regarding to our associates' English communication skills, the English proficiency of some of our team members is something that we are working harder with various methods. However, we believe the lady you were referring to was the one from tour counter which is operated by third party and we have addressed this for their service enhancement already.

We have shared your valuable feedback with our team members including our Housekeeping team, we are sure we will improve our service and facilities and give you entire satisfaction during your next visit.
