More of a Thai backpackers and youngsters place can get a bit noisy, specially room 8 - avoid it as you stay under the creaking floor of the owners place. But at same time people are really friendly and helpful - you get a nice a breakfast (Thai) but have to do the dishes yourself - all in all an OK GH for the price

A very friendly couple welcomes you with the famous Thai smile and helps you in every kind of way, I stayed there 4 nights and found the rooms authentic, not 2 rooms were alike, very pitoresk surroundings, the breakfast is mainly Thai but who wants to eat european in Thailand?

We enjoyed a lot our stay there!
Breakfasf is do and clean it yourself. You can cook your own eggs and have also a Thai style breakfast.
The location is great, very nice staff, big rooms, big bed.....
Wi fi a little slow....
Great value!!!!

Room Tip: Get aways from rooms near the kitchen.

This is by far the most friendly, hospital budget accommodation in Chang Rai and possibly Thailand. Breakfasts are great which you make yourself by combining freshly made pre cooked dishes bought locally by the owner, with eggs you cook yourself.Rooms are good sized with shower and aircon. One downside of a room close to the kitchen, is the noise from early rising guests. Tea and coffee making facility throughout the day.
There are bikes you can borrow and the hosts provide excellent advice on where to go.
Excellent base to explore northern Thailand - by using the local buses you can easily get up to the Myanmar border, Golden Triangle, and back in a day. Visit the White Temple, Black House and hill tribes on another. Try using the aircon vans rather than the buses - only slightly more expensive but much faster.
Huge bonus are the 2 AEON ATMs just opposite the B&B - you can withdraw money without the usual 150 - 180 baht charge and are in constant use by the locals.
A really popular place so book early.

Room Tip: Try getting a room away from the kitchen

Friendly, family-run hotel. They really try to create a home-like atmosphere: help yourself to tea & coffee, bottles of water, comfy lounges, but you also have to wash your breakfast dishes too! Our room was a good size, but on the ground floor with windows that you had to open for natural light. The floor boards were a bit squeaky above us, but it didn't bother us too much. Good value for money. Easy stroll to restaurants. They helped to organise driver for tour of Golden Triangle, who was much cheaper than going through travel agents

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms don't seem to have much natural light & also has some squeaky floor board...

We checked into our room on a hot, steamy afternoon and were greeted by Mrs Kung who checked us in with a smile and the energy of a happy heart. Our room is superb with aircon, separate bathroom and shower and a massive big bed. This lovely B and B is a converted kindergardan school whick also explains why such a feeling of good energy and love exists here.
Celinka and I went out to view some Temple's (all beautiful) and then back to our oh so cool comfortable room to relax. Then off to the night market where for once we were not choaked by hoards of people. Nice meal of Pad Thai and a glass of vino tinto and back to our room. Unfortunatly Celinka got quite ill from her Pad Thai and was up most of the night. I got up early and went to a great breakfast that Kung and her husband laid out. You can cook your own eggs but everything else is prepaired for you and your asked to clean your own dishes when done. The grounds of Baan Norn Plearn are covered with trees and flowers and comfortable seating in the shade. Whether your on your own or travelling with a family I would highly recommend this B and B , centrally located and an oasis of serenity. As a further note. I asked the staff if we could keep our room until 3pm while my Fiancee recovers and they said no problem and wouldn't take any extra money. Absolutely recommend this B and B if your planning to come to Chiang Rai.
