Place was cute. Food was great. Take note food portion is big here. A dish can easily serve 4 persons. Papaya salad was gorgeous.

This is a lovely establishment just a turn off the main road. It's been well-tendered into a sort of mini-jungle, and the decor gives off a very chilled and relaxed vibe.
Some of that definitely comes across in the service, which is a tad slower than other eateries we've been to in Northern Thailand - though not to an unacceptable degree. The food was excellent; we ordered a recommended steamed fish in coconut curry, a mango salad and a red curry with pork, all of which was delicious (the fish, in particular, was sublime). The size of the main dishes were big - we ordered 2 mains and 1 side for two, and swear there was enough curry to feed a whole family - though the rice portions, in comparison, were quite small and expensive (25 bahts per dish; if two people or above it may be worth ordering the large bowl option for 85 bahts). The setup overall was moderately priced, and we wouldn't call this a budget eatery (the price per main dish is about 160-250 baht).
The main challenge with Moommai is that its staff aren't English-proficient, so we had to rely on quite a bit of hand gesturing and pointing at menus (which do have excellent English translations) to get us through the meal. That said, the staff are friendly, warm and keen to help, and we left with the impression that this is a welcoming, family-run establishment that gives an authentic Northern Thai dining experience.
Foods were delicious but beyond mid-range level, not cheap at all. I think kids would love their decoration more.
The food here is wonderful. I ate every meal here once I discovered it. This restaurant has some of the most amazing decor that I have come across so far. Many of the tables are in small garden settings which affords a lot of privacy, and creates an intimate feeling. There is live music in the evening, and staff are very responsive.
There are very good food Chiangrai's restaurant. It's seems you are siting and eating in a nice garden with very nice live acoustic country music.
