I stayed in this hotel for one night in the middle of January, 2014.

For the room itself, the room is sparsely decorated. The TV works good with sufficient channels, the aircon works, the room is clean, the bed is soft with clean sheets, and the bathroom is clean with a good hot water supply.

However, I have to take issue with the way this hotel runs its business. It was understood by me that checkout time is 11am. However, as I was running a few minutes late, I was not happy to see they cut all power to the room exactly at 11am. No lights, no ac, no nothing. That's quite rude. I could understand if they did that after noon, perhaps. It's not good service.

Secondly, one of the two elevators runs in a manner that makes guests apprehensive. The elevator jerks more than usual when stopping at the desired floor, and jerks suddenly when it stops, making one wonder if there's a mechanical problem.

Location is also relatively close to Lee Gardens Plaza and the smaller Central Mall, as well as the Odean shopping mall. However, many equal priced and better options are also close to those locations.
There's better options in Hat Yai, for a relatively equal price.

I didn't expect a lot for the money but all the important aspects were very good indeed. Large room uncluttered by any dingy furniture, excellent bathroom and best shower I have used in a long time. Aircon could have been a bit more effective but I shall certainly use Tune hotels again.

I booked this hotel last minute via zuji.com and come away with mixed feelings. The following are the pros and cons of this hotel:
Pros:
Good location; good hospitality, good security, air-con plus ceiling fan, wall mounted Samsung flat screen TV, issued 2 access cards upon check in, has 3 power points in room that works (sufficient for my needs), prime parking for motorcycles (road level within the hotel), good WIFI in-room connection (free), in room safe. The bed, pillow and quilt are super comfy.
Cons:
No face towel, no shower caps, shower drainage a bit slow, no phone in room, no parking lots for cars.

My booking came with free breakfast, and was surprised they actually bring it up to my room each morning. As with all Tune hotels, check-in time is 2pm but they do allow early check in around 11am at a reasonable charge if rooms are available, Parking is not free either, you have a pay a flat one-time fee no matter how long your stay is. Having 2 access cards means you can leave your power hungry devices to charge in the room while you go out.

Because they are hardly any room service, laundry service or mini bar items available on credit, checking out is a breeze. Will I stay here again? Probably. The road level car park and the hospitality of the staff are winning points, but the lack of other amenities makes me consider twice.

We have stayed in several other Tune Hotels and although the Hat Yai branch has much larger rooms, we wouldn't really say it's good value for money nor is it up to the usual Tune high standard of accommodation.

At the time of booking there were no special offers available either on Tune Hotel's website or on the book sites. So we paid 1200 baht for a room with wifi, TV and toiletries package included.

An excellent location - close to the train station and Lee Garden Plaza, Central Department store and Robinsons department store area.

The lobby wasn't huge but big enough and the staff on the front desk were very friendly, spoke good English and got us checked in very fast. The lift will only work by holding up the key card to the panel, which is good for security. The corridors of the Tune Hotel building reminded us of dodgy University halls in the UK...it was a bit of a weird set up. The room access is also with the key card and there is a control panel for this key card as soon as you walk in the room.

First impression, yes the room is big but it's very spartan with blacked out windows, the walls were very dirty and there was a metal bar with 2 hangers for clothes. There was also a wall hanging TV and a small desk and stool. The bed was very comfortable with a nice duvet and pillows with bed side tables either side.

The bathroom was ok, the shower only had a partial glass enclosure which was fine, the rain dance shower head had excellent water pressure and the hot water was a good temperature. Toiletries provided were good.

The TV channels, however were dismal. As we were paying for the TV, we kind of expected to have a wide choice of channels but were disappointed in the selection.

Overall, it was a good stay - we got a really good sleep as the hotel seems to be very well sound-proofed, but we don't think we would stay here again unless the price was a lot less. It just wasn't worth 1200 baht, more like 600-700 baht at most. Hat Yai is quite an expensive city to stay in though, so this is probably reflected in the pricing for Tune.

We had not stayed in a Tune Hotel before, and were quite impressed. The room was spacious, modern and clean. We did not expect 'frills', but I was surprised that there were no plastic mugs provided for toothbrushing etc. After we checked out we were able to leave our luggage at reception for a few hours at no charge. The hotel is in a convenient place in the central area of the town, but quiet inside in spite of being on a busy street. There is nowhere to eat in the hotel, so we had to find somewhere ourselves. I would stay at a Tune hotel again.
