Hat Yai is just a short getaway for many of it's weekend visitors from the neighbouring countries thus almost all the hotels are just providing the basic services with high rates and nil values, the worse being the passport retaining policy which just like the 1.00 ringgit pocketed by the Thai Immigration at the Sadao border check point is lawless and unThai. Here at least in this hotel situated just behind The BP Hotel is a clean, no frills but worth the 900 baht per night as at least the room is clean, still workable bathroom fittings and a covered car park. I prefer staying here as it is walking distance to the center of the night market and also minus the massage parlours and karaoke joints, serve it's purpose fittingly. There are 2 working computers in the lobby and from 0700 am until 1000 am, free 3-in-1 coffee near the lobby which is a modest gesture from the management. The channel tv has many selections although the reception is fuzzy at times. The bed is bearable and the room is quite soundproofed from the hallway noises which is typical of Hat Yai.The front desk is very Hat Yai.. need I say more! It serves my purpose for a short layover as 1 day or 2 is just bearable to be in this town.
