“One of the better hotels in Hat Yai”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2014

Hat Yai is just a short getaway for many of it's weekend visitors from the neighbouring countries thus almost all the hotels are just providing the basic services with high rates and nil values, the worse being the passport retaining policy which just like the 1.00 ringgit pocketed by the Thai Immigration at the Sadao border check point is lawless and unThai. Here at least in this hotel situated just behind The BP Hotel is a clean, no frills but worth the 900 baht per night as at least the room is clean, still workable bathroom fittings and a covered car park. I prefer staying here as it is walking distance to the center of the night market and also minus the massage parlours and karaoke joints, serve it's purpose fittingly. There are 2 working computers in the lobby and from 0700 am until 1000 am, free 3-in-1 coffee near the lobby which is a modest gesture from the management. The channel tv has many selections although the reception is fuzzy at times. The bed is bearable and the room is quite soundproofed from the hallway noises which is typical of Hat Yai.The front desk is very Hat Yai.. need I say more! It serves my purpose for a short layover as 1 day or 2 is just bearable to be in this town.

Room Tip: Pick a room facing the canal.

We just returned from Hatyai, after staying 2 nights at this hotel. True to all the comments from other travellers, this hotel is clean and room very spacious. Service is good with ample parking. It's just behind BP Grand Hotel and easily accessible to the main shopping area. We have rooms facing the river - very clean river and quiet environment. Nice food just around the corner. Will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Preferably with rooms facing the river.

In Hatyai for 2D1N shopping and we need a place for a night to rest and this hotel serves the purpose. Located behind BP hotel and the side alley to the hotel is a busy restaurant serving great food.

Depending on how fast you walk, its around +/-10mins to Lee Garden Plaza and along the way you can get nice food such as beef noodle soup, fried kuay tiaw, and also plenty of foot massages shops which you can try after a full day walking. The room is clean and bathroom spacious, but the sink is abit too low where you need to bent down to brush your teeth. Might be a problem for those with back pain.

The long desk serves a unique pull up dresser mirror and ample plugs socket available (including those for UK/Malaysia/Spore plugs-no need an adapter). There's a LCD TV, table and chairs but we find the walls to be not so sound proof - you can hear others talking during the nights. Sheltered car park with guard and free wifi. Other than that, everything is okay for the price you pay - buy a voucher from any travel agency as it's much cheaper.

Room Tip: Rooms with window facing the river will get the heat if curtains not drawn as the sun is on this sid...

Recently with my party of 5, we stayed in Color Hotel in June 2014 for two nights.
Generally the room is fairly big and clean. Wi Fi was good but at times you need to log in now and then when the signal disappear. It is about 10 mins walk to Lee Garden location and some 300 metres to West Side Saloon PUB. Receptionist was helpful and warm but couldn't converse much English.
For S$40.00/night with this good and clean environment, there is nothing much you can asked for....
Highly recommended if you wish to stay out of the madding crowd....

Room Tip: The rooms we were in was on the 5th level and generally it was quiet....

Stayed on 2 separate nights. Check-in/out was a breeze. Room is very clean, bath has basic toiletries, good enough for me! Location is well within walking distance. The TV has 50+ channels, a good mixture of local Thai, Chinese, German, English, Malay, etc languages. Sheltered parking is clean and airy with security. Free Wifi a bonus!

This hotel is still relatively new and off the main streets in Hatyai market area. It's actually located near a famous porridge stall and behind BP hotel. Room was cosy and the bed is comfy. No restaurant or room service provided. 7 mins walk to Lee Gdn. Recep & Bell boy were smiley;)

The Colour Hotel is clean and comfort to stay while travel to Hat Yai. Its wifi internet was very speedy and reliable. The room was spacious and big bathroom. There is near by famous restaurant "Nai Yao" which serve good food just a few step. The hotel has no restaurant but Hat Yai has many food outlets near by.
