I was travelling with my family and we booked 3 rooms at this hotel. When we arrived in our room, the toilet seat was stained yellow, was smelly and the shower was dirty. The windows on to the balcony were covered in fingermarks from previous occupants. The bed in my daughter's family room had torn sheets on it and the toilet seat was also marked. My son's family room was the best but still had finger marks on the windows. I went to Reception to complain and Housekeeping was sent in to try to clean the toilet seat. This was impossible so I refused to stay in the room. They offered us the suite above Reception. It was spacious and cleaner but still basic with torn curtains and we had to pay extra. The breakfast was boring and lying open to flies etc. The toasting machine was the best thing there, the Egg Station was fine, providing boiled, scrambled, fried and omelettes. The swimming pool was excellent, very clean but the kids' pool was near cleaned and the water was not circulated in the 10 days we stayed there. The transport links were good with buses a couple of minutes walk away. There is a beautiful temple at the back. The hotel provides a minibus service service which is excellent and is free at 6 pm each night into Hua Hin. the staff do not speak very good English but they are very friendly and do their best.

Seahorse Hua Hin resort is to be found a few kilometres south of Hua Hin with a view to Khao Takiap on one side and a Buddist temple in the back yard. If you're looking to get away from Hua Hin's big city feel but still be close, this is a good option.
The hotel is reasonably quiet (some traffic noise), the rooms clean and the staff friendly although not very good at English.
Nice pool which we preferred to the beach (5-10 min. walk) due to the "package tourism feel". The room is equipped with TV, fridge, a/c and balcony. Have had problems with the shower water which has a tendency to swap between warm and scolding every few seconds so be careful!
Breakfast is boring and tasteless: scrambled, omelette or fried eggs, awful coffee, juice and dry toast is what you get. Frankly we could have been without.

12 of us (10 adults and 2 young children) stayed in this resort and it was fantastic. It is close to the beach and has huge rooms with big bathrooms and balconies facing the pool. The kids simply loved the pool. The bathroom came with a separate shower cubicle and bathtub, the rooms came with umbrellas, bathrobes, hairdryers and slippers and a daybed in the balcony. It was heaven for the kids. The staff was very nice and helpful. The only downside is that the rooms can be a little noisy as you can hear the kids screaming in the pool and the hotel is a little far from town. But we loved the hotel and would go back again.

I see that no-one has written a review for the Seahorse for some time and so I thought I would add mine. I stayed at the Seahorse Resort for two weeks during March 2011.The resort lies to the south of Hua Hin near Khao Takiab, a few km from Hua Hin. Seahorse is a small and quiet resort (ideal for me), especially during the week but the rooms seemed to fill up a bit at the weekend with mostly Thai people on weekend breaks. The beach is a few minutes walk away and you can walk the full length of the beach up to Hua Hin if you wish. The pool at Seahorse is well maintained and clean and the resort offers breakfast and dinner. The staff are generally friendly although not all of them appear to speak English. Transport to Hua Hin is available nearby by means of the 'green bus' based a few minutes walk away. Accommodation is fine and rooms are kept clean and tidy although I do think that the hotel website could do with an update. There was a mini bar in the room but no tea or coffee making facilities in the room; perhaps the hotel could look at addressing this? The hotel offers free wi-fi in your bedroom and this worked well during my stay. There is also free internet usage in reception. In summary I would say that Seahorse is most suitable for those seeking quiet accommodation to the south of Hua Hin and if you can get your accommodation here at a good rate all the better.

Truly welcoming Hotel, though my initial booking was high end price wise, after a few days here we were able to negotiate extremely good rates. The staff here were excellent. From arranging my arrival drink to my departing breakfast in the room. Excellent standard of rooms and so quiet. Brilliant swimming pool area especially with Anne close by on a lounger. Thanks to all the staff from reception to driver from cook to cleaner! we will be back, someday soon I hope! Thanks also for arranging the Air-Blade motorbike...superb.

we are a family of 4 (2 small kids) and we stayed at the hotel for 6 nights in summer 2007. I believe it was soon after the hotel opened - as a result, most of our stay were 30% of the occupancy. the staff was very nice. the rooms were spacious, clean and nicely decorated. pool was nice, clean and large enough. it is in the outskirts of hua-hin near the southern beach (7 min walk), but for us this was no problem since it is a 5 min tuk-tuk ride from town center, which to the best of my recollection was cheap (30-40 baht).

we paid ~100 USD for all 4 of us, including breakfast, and it was definitely worth it.

Seahorse is a new, small hotel (about 40 rooms) near the south end of Hua Hin. Very nice pool, but not on the beach. The large, modern bathrooms are the highlight of the minimalist designs. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms have standard amenities. Beautiful view of the Buddhist temple from the back balcony of the hotel. Hotels in Hua Hin are generally overpriced compared to the rest of Thailand, especially in high season. We paid about $135 net including breakfast for a "Malibu" poolside room in high season. Though this is pricey, there are few other Hua Hin hotels between the $30 per night flop houses and the $300 per night chain monsters. Our only complaint was that they were playing rather loud music in the pool bar right outside all the rooms until after 10:30 PM, but they immediately turned it off when we phoned in a request. All in all, a good choice for a boutique, mid-price hotel in Hua Hin.
