Seem like this hotel was build to support the golfers because all around are many popular golf courses. Located far from Hua Hin downtown about 15-20 drive from city center. Hotel consist of many villas and most of villa comes with private swimming pool. If you are about to booking make sure that you book the pool villa because you will not like the main swimming pool which located far away and nothing else to do. Lobby and restaurant are separated from the villa, need to walk a bit but OK if no rain. Food & breakfast are OK.

This hotel is value for money, they always show lower rate if you book from some hotel agency website, it's good for those who drive and those who just want to make their weekend restful (sleep eat swim sleep eat swim)

We stayed at this hotel for one night over the bank holiday. We knew that it was 12 kilometres out of town but feel this is too far even though we had a car and they do have a shuttle bus.

The rooms were lovely but the whole place felt a bit "tired" and probably in need of some renovation. We didn't have our own private pool and couldn't use the communal pool as they were building right next to it and it was too noisy. Also, they hotel was extremely busy and they didn't have enough staff there at breakfast so plates weren't cleared away.

We would not stay here again preferring to be closer to town.

Travelled to Thailand in early November and the plan was to stay in Bangkok for 3 nights then onto Koh Sumui however due to reports of heavy rain there the plan was changed and we booked a stay at the Dhevan Dara resort in Hua Hin through a Bangkok travel agent losing the money on our Bangkok to Koh Sumui flights.

We were looked after during the stay and initially had a presidential pool villa which is 3 seperate bedrooms and a kitchen area and a private pool. It was situated about a 5 minute walk from main reception. The resort was very quiet when we stayed and some further develeopment work was underway near the main pool. This did not affect us however.
Breakfast was included for us and was quite nice witha good variety. Varioius cereals and salads were available as well as a chef to cook eggs or omelettes. Some mornings there were also Thai food such as pork and stickt rice with satays there was also toast and jam and fruits.

We had in villa dining a couple of evenings which was good although the first time was a little on the cool side probably due to the distance from reception. Half way through the stay we were offered a move to another villa due to some strange smells from one of the rooms at the presidential villa. We were actually upgraded to the Royal suite which is near reception so the second in villa dining was much hotter.

There are two restauants on site, a Thai one and an Italian although both were very under marketed and we did not see the Italian even open bar for a private Thai party at the weeked. The site does become busier at the weekend with local people coming and staying over.

Worthy of note is the site wide free wi fi which proved very useful. Pass keys are handed out at reception, there are also two desktop PCs and a printer near the main pool area which are free to use.

The villas are cleaned daily and we had the benefit of comparing both the presidential and royal villas during our stay. The royal villa has more space although list price puts it almost double the presidential suite which I think is on the steep side.
There is a nice BBQ area at the royal suite and outdoor eating area which we did not use and also more waterfalls and fountains!

The staff try to help with any problems and are very polite, you can just about get by in English. We even ordered a Pizza hut one evening but were told by reception they don't deliver as far as the Dhevan Dara but one of their drivers would collect it for us, most helpful.

The resort lay on a free shuttle bus both into Hua Hin town and to a local beach which they call their private beach but it clearly is not. You can book outbound and in bound journeys back to the hotel up to 1030pm. If you want to stay out longer a taxi from Hua Hin costs around 300BHT about £6.

All in all a pleasant stay. If you can get a good priced deal and want to stay near Hua Hin and want peace and quiet then this might be the place for you. Hopefully during other times of the year the resort might be a bit more lively and the resturants might be open as well as the main pool which does have a bar but no one to serve you.

See my youtube page for walk around videos of both the Presidential and Royal suite villas.

The hotel compound was very poorly laid out and it reminded me of a housing estate with row upon row of walled houses. There was no atmosphere whatsoever. Had an awful night's sleep with the hardest pillows I've ever encountered. We were supposed to stay three nights but check out after 1.

On the plus side, the hotel represents good value for money if all you want is a private villa with a decent sized (3 x 5 meter) dipping pool to call your own. But you need to own a car as it is about 15 minutes outside hua hin.

The villa was well worth it, we came here to get away from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok.
We had our own private pool secluded within the garden walls, an outdoor bath, indoor shower and lots of space.

The whole villa & pool was really clean and service was excellent, so good it was hard to leave and go to the beach.

Staff were friendly and there was a free shuttle bus into town as the resort is a bit further away than others, but worth it regardless.

I am not surprised the reviews for this property are so mixed both on this forum and others.

Although there were only two of us we booked a two bedroom deluxe pool villa (so we could spread out and maybe have a larger pool) via Hotels.com -approx £1200 for 8 nights including breakfast.

On arrival midweek the welcome was appalling. There was one receptionist, who persisted in answering the phone before attending to us -no apology. He then proceeded to have discussions with other residents while attending to us. It gave the impression of being a busy resort whereas in reality other than Sat night the occupancy was maybe 10% ?

Had we not paid the full amount in advance we would probably have left as we have holidayed in Hua Hin a few times before and are aware of excellent properties -Evason Hideaway and AKA although these are pricier.

We were shown to our villa just a few steps away from Reception and were really happy with it. Good size rooms/good independent a/c in the rooms/nice touches to furnishings/comfy beds/good pool
The only drawbacks were :-
privacy could be improved by filling in the holes in the walls where greenery has not yet grown sufficiently
Day Bed Sala was dirty -in fact it was not cleaned the whole time we were there
Outside Bath dirty and by the time sufficient water had run into the bath you had forgotten you wanted one
Shortage of towels -bath towel had to double up as pool towel
Although there is a kitchen there are no pans/plates/cutlery -what is the point

The main problem was the service in the resort. There appeared to be a lack of pride and probably a poor Management.:as no checks carried out eg pool not cleaned the whole time we were there-it was pretty murky at the end mainly because of the thatch blowing off the roof. The filtration was not even turned on until the last day

Although there were few staff who could understand English, I would not criticise this -after all my Thai is not too clever. What I would criticise is the lack of a smile to help with communication. This is the first visit to Thailand where we have encountered an unsmiling housekeeper

Room Cleaning not consistent although did come immediately on telephone request -we ate breakfast in the restaurant whilst room refreshed
(Because of the shortage of guests buffet breakfast only operated on a couple of days. Waiting Staff poor even on days there were only two of us there)

Room Service used for lunch on first two days but orders incorrect (and not put right) so we vowed then not to spend another Baht in resort.. We took the free shuttle to town each evening and bought lunch for the next day -even a cheap pan to cook rice in

VERDICT
Whilst we had an enjoyable relaxing stay in our villa -probably decent value for the discounted rate paid, the Owners of the property need to get a grip on the service standards. They have a good base product
