“The swimming pool was nice”
Reviewed 20 June 2011

I found Hua Hin underwhelming, in spite of its royal palace and its luxurious condominiums. Some of the locals are "on the make" and too pushy for my liking with hiking of prices and hassle from traders down on the beach.

My room at the Peony was pleasant enough with a nice balcony overlooking the pool. The bathroom was clean and spacious with fresh towels both days I was there. When I checked out, the reception lady asked if I had had anything from the minibar - but there was nothing in my fridge apart from the customary bottles of mineral water. There was no breakfast service available and they couldn't even make us a cup of coffee when requested to do so which is rather pathetic considering the number of staff members on duty.

The saltwater pool was clean and refreshing but there were only seven sunbeds available even though the hotel has forty rooms. My main complaint concerns the several seedy European men who were staying in the hotel with sexploited Thai bar girls young enough to be their daughters. A suspicious previous reviewer (from Hua Hin!) has denied that this stomach churning immorality has seeped into the Peony but I can confirm that it has. It 's one thing having a pimps approaching you in the street to ask .but to put up with such indecency in a hotel where you're paying 1000 baht a night for a room - without breakfast - is just not on.

I stayed at this Hotel for 10 days in March with my husband and Family and echo what Patrick said ....As far as hotels go it was a dreadful experience, with hard beds, poor english and lack of interest and initiative when it came to attending to guests needs..The womans review is quite inaccurate when it came to no hanky panky with female guests...Our family was kept awake most nights by drunk bar girls walking up and down stairs and a long corridors to clicking of high heels....dont where she got her information from but its not correct that no girls are allowed to be invited...so she must be a realtive writng on behalf of the management... Anyway, the hotel ruined our holiday with the appaling service and like Patrick, based on its service, I would not stay there again,,,,
I know also of others who share this opinion of this hotel.

Do not stay at this Hotel...Rude, Lazy non professional staff and management will make this a nightmare for your holiday...Cable TV is limited to only 3 basic English channels with rooms run down and not maintained ....Poor English if at all in reception with lazy and incompetent maintenace guy...BE WARNED...THIS IS NOT A GOOD HOTEL...there are much better budget hotels in Hua Hin run in a more professional manner..

This is one of a few hotels right behind "Sofitel", about 0,5 km away from the beach. It is convenient located, easily to walk to the beach and the center.
It is a spotless building with a pool. The restaurant didn't serve anything but there are plenty restaurants around.
Stuff is very unfriendly and poor in help and english.
Rooms are okay, with satellite TV and are very quiet.

Fridge ok
Toilet simple but clean.
Very nice pool.
Restaurant is not good in low season, slow service and tiny menu...
Close to many nice restaurants.
