“Great value hotel in central location”
Reviewed 1 April 2011

This is a newish hotel right in the town centre with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, Great value we thought, clean, spacious room in a surprsingly quiet central location. Easy access too, with lift to the higher floors. Excellent free wi-fi signal in the room is a bonus. Also includes off-road parking spaces for the car, and a friendly reception. A great budget choice,

We stayed at Baan Manthana Hotel for three nights. Very nice room and looks newly constructed. The staff are very courteous and helpful. The pool is very nice and has a bubble (jacuzzi) section. Its very close to the night market so great for eating out. Very close to the train station as well. Nice tv and quite a few channels for the kids in case you need them. there was free wifi internet in the room and you can access it at the pool as well. we had a great time and really liked the hotel.

Nice hotel and good value, walking distance to everywhere They arranged a taxi from the airport which was faultless but in truth as the minivans to/from Bangkok stop right outside the hotel, that is a much cheaper option

We stayed here over the new year, and although I wasn't very impressed with Hua Hin the hotel really was very good. It is very close to the night market but very quiet and clean. The room we had was in the new wing. It was quite large and modern and the bathroom had an amazing shower. The king size bed was very comfortable and we also had a nice balcony. The manager and his staff were very helpful and arranged some very good trips for us. There is a 'laundry' run by an elderly Thai lady in the small road that runs up to the reception, we had around 12 items washed and ironed and it cost less than £2, amazing value.
The best place we found for breakfast was called 'All In Hua Hin' it is around 100 yards along the road if you turn left out of the hotel.

we stayed in Baan Manthana Hotel on Dec. 7, 2010. We stayed in a family room. It's very big, the location is quite well. Actually at the first, my family all liked this hotel. We arrived the hotel almost 3:00 pm . But the receptionist (elder one) told us the room was not ready. So we went for late lunch first. Later when we back to hotel, the receptionist changed to another young man who is very nice and speak fluent English. We finally got our room. Until then, there was not any staff talk about the check-in & check-out time.
The second day, we took off to Marukataiyawan Palace from hotel at 9:00 AM. At that time, the receptionist was a female staff who is not so good at English, but she understood we were leaving for Marukataiyawan Palace, she didn't mention a word about check- out time. After Marukataiyawan Palace tour, we got back to hotel around 2:30 pm. The first day receptionist(elder one) didn't say a word about late check-out fee and watched us went back to our room. Later we checked out at 3:10 pm, he asked to charge us extra 200 THB for late check out. "Now" he said their check-out time is 12:00, if you leave around 2:00 pm, he won't charge this fee. Then why he didn't tell us when we finished tour and arrived the hotel. He gave us the receipt only showed 1,700THB, not include the 200THB. Maybe he wanted to took the money for his own.
I post this review not because I don't agree with late check-out fee. I just hate the way he took extra charge on purpose. After I read the terrible review before me, I want to tell other travelers to avoid this hotel.

We booked this hotel in April this year. We booked the best suite in the hotel. Two days before arriving we reconfirmed our arrival time and were emailed back by the manager to tell us there had been a mix up and we would have to have one of the two junior suites instead he offered a free night out of the 5 so we accepted. When we arrived the manager was not around. But the receptionist was very friendly. The room was ok but not very clean. E.G. An empty box of tissues, very old towels and a very small terrace.

The next morning we went down for breakfast and found it was served at one of two tables in the hotel lobby. A gruff looking man plonked down a water and orange juice. Then a couple of minutes later plonked down our breakfast. Half a sausage each the tiniest piece of bacon ever, two fried eggs that looked more like an omlette and two pieces of bread. He then uttered his first words, coffee or tea ?

We went to reception and said we did not want any more breakfasts and to knock the money off the bill. She said she would confirm it with the manager who, still hadnt showed his face. We then went out shopping, arriving back at our hotel at 12.30 the room had not been cleaned so we asked when it would be cleaned she said around 1 to 2. So we went out again. We came back at 2.30 and still no sign of a cleaning lady. We decided this was the final straw so decided to check out. We paid for the night we had and went to pack. Whilst packing the manager phoned our romm and said we could not check out as we had booked for 5 nights. We told him about the problems. He then called again to say we would have to pay for extra day because of the late check out, we informed him that the room was still not cleaned so he could not charge us.

We checked out and crossed the road to the Rajana Hotel a beautifull boutique hotel with bungalows in the grounds. Only about 5 so very quiet and more than half the price.

Hotel is just a short walk away from the night market where you will find good food, probably 5-7 min walk into the lively bar area of town and 10 min to the beach, Hotel has good sized rooms with air con and are clean. Staff where very attentive, nothing too much of a problem for them, when I arrived the room safe had been left locked by previous guest, I called reception and within minutes a member of staff arrived and sorted it. I stayed in the new extension which is very quiet so a good night or days sleep is easy to get. Nice but small swimming pool for guest to use.
