This villa is highly recommended. Cannot fault it. Just perfect for a large group. Owners were absolutely superb and such a nice couple . Ian & Teresa went out of their way to make it a holiday of a lifetime, from organising trips, masages and even driving us to the pizza place when the order didn't quite go to plan!
Won's bar round the corner is a must. Great bar and lovely people. Won cooks the best Thai green curries and her and her husband taxied us around whenever we needed a ride into town. We just hired scooters to get around on locally. Taxi's where so cheap and because there was so many of us was never a problem. Won's husband also has a mini bus for larger taxis.
Well worth going on some of the trips. My kids really enjoyed Monkey Island. Great day out. We also visited the elephant sanctuary which was good. Kids also loved the water park Vana Nava as well as the adults! Masages organised at the villa through Teresa were amazing and very reasonable.
We were staying at the villa as it was my husbands 50th birthday and he wanted to fish Jurrasic Mountain which was about an hour in car but well worth it. Transport was all arranged through Jurassic. I was hoping to attach some of the pictures of the fish he caught but unfortunately failed!!
Cannot recommend this villa enough. Book it...you will not regret.
This was our 4th visit in as many years. It is still a peaceful and relaxing place. We hired scooters from Mr Moo and just enjoyed ourselves. We even rode into Hua Hin this time.
Ian and Teresa are perfect hosts, they are there if you need them, other than that they leave you alone to enjoy yourself. You are a few minutes from Wons shop where you can buy essentials, more importantly you can buy excellent Thai food cooked while you sit and have a drink.
If you want a holiday that is peaceful and quiet then this is the place for you. IF a group of you want to party, then equally this is the place for you. There is a bar and large fridges for drinks, TV stereo system and Karaoke. Disco lights can illuminate the pool at night.
Will I go there again...absolutely, just looking at flights for next year.
We stayed here for two weeks in August 2016 (really sorry for not reviewing earlier thought I had already done a review!!)
We were a party of 9 adults and we used 5 of the 8 bedrooms/cottages but booked out the whole place as we wanted to have the place to ourselves.
It was a really relaxing holiday, the surrounding area is very quiet and rural, typical Thai rather than touristy. The owner Ian was very helpful and organised some taxis for us and arranged golf for the lads and Thai massage for the ladies and came by quite a few times for a drink and a chat.
We had a chef come in and cook for us twice which was excellent and went to 'Mr Singh's' quite a few times, we can highly recommend My Singh and his fun mode of transport!
We hired bicycles, mopeds and scooter with side car to get around and to the nearby beach and then had mini buses etc. organised by Ian to go on trips out and into Hua Hin a couple of times to the market.
The area is very different to all of the other areas of Thailand we have visited so really enjoyed the area, it is well away form Hua HIn so you only need to endure the business of Hua Hin if you choose to go there.
The villa itself is amazing, large villa, large bedrooms, beautiful gardens, great pool and the outside eating/bar area is brilliant and we used it a lot, we never cooked ourselves even though there are two kitchens and we never used the indoor kitchen or lounge we used the outdoor area the whole time, we just love Thai food so ate out locally or had a chef cook in. The chef is a local restaurant owner, recommended by Ian and the meal was fantastic both times, large portions, and good quality dishes, lot's of prawns and reasonable price.
Tesco Lotus is not too far away for a big shop and essentials can be found locally.
Mountain beach retreat is nice and quiet to rest and relax.
Suitable for people of all age.
Beautiful beach and local people.
This was our third visit to Mountain Beach retreat over the last three years. There is something about the place that keeps us wanting to go back.
It is located south of Hua Hin in a expanding Thai village. It is so peaceful there, other than the cows going up and down the road in the morning and evening. We only rent three rooms for our group size, but there are 8 bedrooms in total so would be good for a larger group or extended families.
There are many options open to you, you can cook in one of the two kitchens or just pop out to eat in one of the local restaurants. The one in walking distance is Wons shack, she still cooks the best Thai Green curry you will ever of tasted. (For me it is worth the visit just for that)
We tend to hire scooters from Mr Moo locally, that gives you the freedom to go up to 7 - 11 or the beach or just explore around the area. We have even been to Tesco Lotus although the roads are busy there.
We are in the process of looking for flights for next year, we really want to go back for the 4th time.
If you are looking for a nice peaceful holiday, then you can't go wrong there. There are keys for the property, but nobody tends to lock anything. We even leave laptops and Ipads outside when we go out.

What a fabulous place! We spent 5 days here - 7 adults and 2 children - and couldn't have asked for anything more. The accommodation was ideal - our daughter and son in law were having a belated honeymoon so the annexe house was just right. The other bedrooms in the house were clean, and each had an ensuite and air con. The whole house was well equipped with good selection of TV programmes and everything you'd need in the kitchen. The outdoor space was brilliant - a complete outside house and the pool was a real bonus. Even I used it every day - and I can't swim! So was grateful the water was a sensible depth.
Ian and his wife were welcoming and helpful. A cot was immediately set up as we had forgotten to 'order' one. A motorbike was arranged the same day for 2 of us and massages were booked to come to the house which we enjoyed outside on the massage bed - at a very reasonable cost
The sea was only a 5 minute drive away and there was a good selection of eating places and food shops.
We had such a good time we didn't want to leave and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this holiday home. Thanks to Ian and his wife too who were always there but unobtrusive.
Firstly let me say you couldn't ask for better host / owners as nothing was too much trouble after we turned up with more guests than expected.
Despite the numbers (20+)we all had plenty of room for the duration of our stay.
Only little downside is that you really do need transport to and from the villa for food purposes but tesco etc are only 10 mins away so plan ahead on this matter.
The villa was pretty much spotless so we can't really fault the place at all.
We held a family gathering and we were recommended a local Catering team via Ian & Theresa to come and prepare a meal for 20 and the service and food was excellent should you need this option just ask them.
We would gladly return should we be in the area again.
