First, don't come here unless you have a car. I'll say that again: don't book here unless you have a car. It's too far out, and though the reception will call a taxi for you, it takes some time before it arrives and it's a hassle. The other reason you should have a car when you come here is because I don't think the staff are quite yet used to foreigners staying here (read: not used to having tourist information about with maps of Hua Hin, things to do, places to go, etc.). All literature on Hua Hin in the hotel was in Thai. So, if you were like us, and hadn't traveled to Hua Hin before (and we have been living somewhere with little access to internet), don't rely on staff here to be able to suggest places of interest.

Like another reviewer, we hoped it would be a very serene environment. The compound is lovely. And you can really get the concept of what they're trying to create; however, it is right on a busy road...not something you really expect, and it can get quite noisy.

Positives:
-beautiful compound
-beautiful, unique huts
-responsive emails from management prior to arrival

Negatives:
-not quite ready (or used to) foreigners
-staff were not super friendly (they were OK, but for Thai standards, I'd say it wasn't great)
-unable to book and pay online
-substandard breakfast (food all around not great - go to town)
-on a busy road
-quite far out (would need a car)
-seems unfinished
-terrible experience trying to pay! credit card machine didn't work in the peak of high season!

We also had quite a bad experience, as their credit card machine did not work. This meant they could not accept payment from us! Though they arranged a private guy to drive us in a huge van to and from Bangkok (WAY overpriced and the driver was NOT a safe driver and was very unfriendly, to boot...we could've negotiated with a taxi to get us there much cheaper), this guy had to drive us all over Bangkok + took us to some shady petrol station (I think the management owned?) to have us pay for our accommodation in Hua Hin THERE! It didn't feel on the up-and-up.

Can't recommend anyone to stay here. Maybe in the future...but they've got some work to do.

Beautiful resort with lovely clay villas, it is a place where you can really just chill and relax, the rooms were large, the service was great and it was one hell of a great place to let your hair down, we were in a group of 4 families, and probably the only 4 families as it was a week day that we were there, the pool is awesome, the cycle trips just great, and they also allowed me to drive the buggy around, being from a beach destination ourselves, it did not matter to us that we were away from the beach.
each clay villa had a touch of class,
i would definitely recommend this place for couples, and families

Room Tip: all villas that we got were just great

Just 17 units nestled on the hills of Hua Hin, away from the beaches, away from the noise. You do really need a car to get there. There are 12 basic units of idyllic straw roofed clay huts, each christen with one of the animals from the Chinese zodiac. There are 5 larger traditional Thai villas for the bigger families, one having its own private pool. The rooms I was in was basic to the core, matching its price. TV, air-conditioning, free DIY coffee in the supplied kettle. Nice and clean my room was, in fact so clean and well polished the wooden floors that I could so easily slip and slide around in the large rooms so spacious. Greenery is abundance, my room had its own private garden and there's even a doggie house sited nicely at a corner overlooking the Burma sunset across the distance border. I think this place is dog friendly.

They could however have place more attention to the limited selection buffet breakfast which was a wee bit disappointing. The number of seats were inadequate. The large Thai family who came dominated the only four tables by the pond where the buffet line was and turned breakfast into a fish market for us. From their grandsons to their living ancestors, the whole family tree was there. Kids playing their iPads and iPhones refused to leave the table and sited on till 10. The adults chatted away loudly unashamed in full awareness that guest turning up had to look for tables elsewhere.

The large pool located next to the restaurant offered me a refreshing dip after a long hot day of cave trekking. There's a Jacuzzi corner built-in that gently massaged my so aching muscles as the ever blowing mild breeze accompanied my beer by the pool. Under the clear blue skies interrupted by the sky rocketing trees, it was a gratifying time as evening approaches. Coming here, no five stars treatment and don't expect five stars amenities. The resort was only opened in April of 2011 and I suspect like all other resorts in Thailand, as soon as it gets popular, the prices will definitely multiply. So do it now before that happens. Privacy and just the basic all I needed, my experience here was in total agreement to the money I had paid.

Room Tip: The clay huts will do. They have larger villas for big families, but those are of wooden built and not as interesting as the clay huts.

Booked a room for 4 nights (oval romance room) in the hope of just relaxing and enjoying all the provided facilities, according to all reviews. Unfortunately it was not quite what we expected.
Room was large with all the required facilities and was clean. Love the private lazing chairs on the balcony which overlooks their man-made lake. Rooms are surrounded by well maintained gardens and plants.
The resort was built on a large property however all of their lovely individual clay rooms are set only 50m from the road. Even though it is a two lane local road, the regular truck and motorcycle noises will really annoy you if relaxing on the balcony.
Being an isolated resort away from the town and beach, you will need to rely on their food unless you have a car. Their restaurant provides a fair choice of dishes, but they are standard choices with resort prices. We were the only regular guests in their restaurant. If staying there more than a night or two, you will definitely prefer to go elsewhere for something different.
We ended up using a private taxi to/from Hua Hin a few times. The journey is at least 15 mins and costs 250 baht a trip.
Swimming pool is in a nice setting with a water feature. The pool has a few jets, but they weren’t turned on every time we used the pool as they didn't have many guests in that period. We tried to use one of the canoes, but it was too difficult to get it down into the canal without help so we gave up and went to swim instead.
We rode their mountain bicycles to one of the nearby floating markets. It took half an hour at an average speed, being careful to keep away from motorcycles, cars and trucks along the way. My legs were numb when we reached there.
Overall this is an okay place to stay for a day or two. Car really needed for more convenience. If staying at one of their wooden houses or villas further towards the back of the resort there may be less noise from the road.

Stayed 3 nights in March with partner and our 3 year old daughter in the 'Wooden glory' Thai style house. Can not fault the place - the setting is great in amongst lakes, jungle and river and is about 12 km inland from Hua Hin.

The price is very reasonable if pre-booked.

Overall it is very relaxing and has very good facilities for families - nice swimming pool, free mountain bikes and kayaks to use.

Had excellent cheap food delivered to the room every night.
