This artist village host many galleries and ateliers from locals, and it also has some nice
exhibitions and even jazz sessions on Sunday. It is a very relaxing atmosphere and you can
see artists at work. I just love this place on Sunday afternoon for sipping an ice coffee or
just wandering around.

Love this place! Nice to come to get some inspiration and may be to buy some pictures or buy some things for drawing by myself. :)

We visited before the official time for activities, so it was very quiet. This actually made our visit very nice as we were looking to browse around the shops rather than watch a concert or engage in activities.
This is not a flea market, it has nice and original shops where local artists sell their products. Some of them were really really good! Also, we found prices very reasonable. You can have a coffee/beer and relax during your visit.
Our sons (ages 10-8-8) are quite restless when they get bored but they quite enjoyed it here, so don’t be afraid to bring your little ones!
Very enjoyable and very much worth the tuk tuk ride to the outskirts of Hua Hin.

I visited Baan Sillapin many years ago and met Khun Tawee Kesa-ngam, the founder of this great village. Tawee has since become a friend and I have watched the village change over time and grow to have many artists who share different mediums. There is a wide range of artwork, clothing, jewellery, and crafts at the village. There is something for everyone. The village is quirky and everyone is most friendly and accommodating. You can walk around without anyone pushing you to purchase anything. Artwork is affordable unless you are looking to buy one of Tawee's painting. He has painted for the beloved Thai king and queen and his work is sought after. He is in a phase at the moment of political painting which is not my favourite. However, Tawee is a true artist so he paints from his soul. He also does commissioned work.

If you need a space to rest, meditate, or chill, this is a great place. You may need to take mosquito spray, as it is wooded.

On Sunday afternoons, you frequently find local musicians jamming. You can join and play or just observe jazz in the village.

If Tawee is available, he's happy to give you a tour and tell you more about the history of Baan Sillapin. Enjoy!

It was such a lovely treat to visit this artists' village where the art and crafts were originals and of high quality. Not the mass-produced items that you normally find in Thailand. The location is charming too as it is situated amongst nice green trees and plants. I also liked the idea of doing some craft-making sessions with some of the artists present, as these were interesting and very cheap.
