“Nice and quiet hotel. Love it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 January 2014

After looking through so many hotels in Hua Hin, my wife and I decided to book 3 nights (9 to 12 Jan) with Amari base on the previous great reviews. And we are glad to have book this hotel, it didn't disappoint at all.

We arrived at the hotel slightly late due to the travel time from Bangkok airport. And I informed the hotel about us arriving around 4pm just in case. Once we reached the hotel, the door guy was really helpful and help us with our bags and carried it to the hotel lobby. While we were checking in with the front desk, another staff came by with welcome drinks. We needed that refreshing drink as the journey from Bangkok to Hua Hin was around 3 hours. We were pleasantly surprised by the upgrade to Pool View on the highest floor (7th floor), thumbs up for that! The surprises did not end there, they even assigned one of the staff to walked us to our room. Once she opened up the hotel room, we all broke into laughter. They have actually prepared a piece of wedding anniversary cake for us, and even did some romantic decoration on the bed with towels folded as swans and surrounded with rose petals! Wow, impressive and how thoughtful. When booking the hotel, I actually did mentioned that we are on our wedding anniversary and did not think much that the hotel will go to the extend of preparing such a wonderful surprise. Very nice gesture indeed.

The rooms in great size, comfortable bed, the bathroom is clean and loaded with shampoo and shower gel. One thing is they missed out on the toothbrush and tooth paste but a call to the customer service and toothbrush and paste was send up right away in 5 minutes.

Wide selection for breakfast, we enjoyed our breakfast every morning. Breakfast is always a busy affair but the waiting staff are attentive and refilling our coffee without fail. Thumbs up!

The concierge staff good as well. We wanted to go visit some sights and asked the concierge to arrange for car to bring us to the 2 places. We paid 1,500 Baht to go to 2 places, reasonable and comfy ride.

Cicada market is just located nearby, about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. We like Cicada market, very interesting venue with locals, artists selling their wares. And also live portrait drawings by artists there (around 60 baht per person).

There is also a very nice dessert, pastries cafe nearby the hotel. Can't remember what's the place call but they serve food as well as cakes and desserts. We didn't get to try the cakes but we did try the pasta there, price is reasonable (pasta 220 baht) and not bad as well.

Getting around to the night market is easy. Just walk opposite the hotel and wait for the green taxi. Wave and hop on for 10 Baht per person before 9pm after 9pm will be 15 Baht, took us about 15 minutes ride to the night market. Taking a tuktuk from the night market back to hotel cost around 200 Baht.

The hotel also provide a buggy ride to the beach front club. Nice place to chill and have some grill food in the evening or night. We even took a long walk along the beach to the mountain nearby with the big golden Buddha. It's a 2 hour slow walk to and back, very relaxing. Occasionally you can see horses walking along the beach and people doing some sea activities (banana boat, jet ski). On our way back to the Beach front club, we sat down at the club and ordered some drinks n food. Enjoying the sea breeze and soaking in the great night. While we were leaving the club and waiting for the buggy, we happened to bum into the GM and he offered us a ride back to the hotel. Thanks so much for that! :)

Overall, wonderful stay and great experience. Amari Hua Hin is the place to stay if you are looking for excellent service and relaxing stay.

Thank you so much, we will be back for sure!

Room Tip: Higher floors pool view.

Dear KimWongSingapore,

WOW..!!!, what a fantastic review that you have given us, including the great real time photos. We are quite overwhelmed and delighted that we were able to make your stay a memorable one. Wishing you a very happy anniversary too, we take guests requests quite seriously, as we say here “ No request is too small or TOO BIG to make it happen.

The bakery near the hotel which you are referring to is “Wilaiwan” , I must agree it is quite a cozy vintage styled bakery, with some great delicacies indeed.

It was a pleasure to meet you guys and we look forward to welcoming you back soon, and please do not hesitate to get in touch with us to ensure a warm welcome back.

great hotel. staff excellent. and very freindly really clean rooms. good restaurants stayed here over the new year. and had a good time. the breakfast is spot on.there are some people saying on here that you are a bit of a distance from the town. i dont think it is all that far. from town considering where some of the other hotels are located. also the hotel have a free shuttle service to the town which takes less than 10 minutes. to get there.and they also pick you up i have stayed in a lot of hotels in hua hin. and this is one of the best. big pool area every one went out of there way to make you feel welcome. so i give this hotel 10/10 brilliant,,

We stayed for only a night, and this place does provide comfortable and pleasant feeling. We got early check-in at 12pm since we arrived too early.

Room facing swimming pool and ocean is a great choice. Very QUIET atmosphere which is great for relaxation, we spent hrs by the pool…

Provide great facilities, and mobile cart to drive you to Shoreline lounge by the beach.

Somehow, very lack of service minds. Front desk staffs were NOT friendly and helpful since every time we need assistant, there were no smiley faces, they look sad to work, so we did not want to ask much, either info of attractions..

We stayed here for 1 week and it was the perfect place to relax and get over our jet lag from Europe. The hotel is very tasteful and still has a nice new feel about it. The pool area is huge so I never experienced it overcrowded.

The decor in the rooms is lovely. The bathrooms are nice and the walk in shower is nice and spacious and the toiletries provided are lovely. For our first 3 mornings we experienced problems with the noise of what sounded like a huge generator starting up, shortly followed by all of the lights in our room turning on waking us up, the doorbell would also ring several times, very disturbing! We informed the reception staff of this and of a problem with our phone but they called us at 9am to try to rectify it at which time we had just fallen back to sleep. It was a little bit clumsy but they made the effort. We paid around £80 GBP per night on Asia Rooms. We recommended the hotel to a friend and they just walked in and got a better rate that us at £60 GBP per night including Breakfast whereas we did not have breakfast. They got exactly the same type of room as us too. Unknown to us they spoke to the manager (Mario) and explained we had recommended the hotel and how they had got a better rate that us and he gave us breakfast the next morning which was our last morning but the gesture was nice and the breakfast delicious. We ate at 7am as we were travelling that day but it was empty at that time. I should also add that the coffee and tea facilities in the room are of great quality. The coffee is delicious.

The beds are comfy, the balconies are fine, the TV's are good and all of the other amenities you would expect are there. We state don the 6th floor at the very end of the corridor in the main building. We had a slight view of the pool and the side of the opposite building and the back of next doors hotel. We didn't mind but if you want a good view then specify as there probably aren't many rooms with really good views.

We went to the beach bar one night. It is very pricey, looked very pretty with twinkling lights and candles but is a playground for mosquitos. They even provide mosquito spray as it is such a problem!

The hotel in our opinion is a lot further from town that advertised. We hire a scooter so for us it wasn't a problem but it is easily a 10 - 15 minute journey and traffic is very busy heading into Hua Hin at several times in the day. There is not a lot outside of the hotel but enough to feed yourself and have a massage. You would get tired of it after a few days though and fancy a change.

Overall though, we had a really pleasant experience and we would stay again.

Dear Rebecca H

Thank you for your in-depth and lovely review of our hotel. We are delighted that you had a pleasant stay. We are sorry about the electricity issue, as at that time the local authorities have been relaying new cable around Hua Hin, due to the ever increasing demand for this destination, they are upgrading all electricity cables around Hua Hin.

We hope next time we can give you one of our rooms with the following views, Hillside, Pool or Ocean. Personally recommend the high pool view rooms in the second building, cause you also get a partial ocean view.

I must say on the weekends the roads here can be quite daunting, especially if it is a long weekend, however generally Sunday to Friday is a mere 7 minute ride into the center of town. We do also have a shuttle service on avail. Its shame you couldn’t catch the weekend markets – Cicada – which is just a 5 minute walk from out hotel. Boasts of some the best local street food stalls, plus many arts & craft stalls, as well great live local entertainment.

We look forward to welcoming you back again, and please do not hesitate to get in touch with myself or the team to ensure your next stay is a more memorable one.

2 year old hotel, silent and peaceful area, very nice rooms, pool area, restaurants etc. Friendly and helpful staff. Quite well equipped gym. The beach is 500 meters from the hotel, and the hotel has a nice restaurant at the beach front where you can sunbath.

Stayed with extended family. Good Points: Excellent breakfast, good location with easy access to all of Hua Hin, Friendly, obliging staff and the suite we had was top notch. The hotel is very well appointed and outfitted. Bad points: Never able to see any beach or swim in the sea (may have just been bad luck but I was there a week and kept checking), no direct access to the beach area as there are condos occupying the prime positions and you can't walk straight through but yes there's a buggy to take you, room cleaning was consistently slow - waited till almost 5pm one day and always after 2pm which is really not good enough.
General: Elevators requires a card to go up but they only gave us two for a family of 5, which is just an annoyance more than a failure. Pool is very nice and pool bar staff will take your order at your pool lounger. Reception staff were generally very efficient and changed money, booked transport and booked golf etc very quickly and without any problems. Laundry can be done across the road and a bit to the right.

Room Tip: Family Room is a suite and is able to handle 4 people easily.

Dear Steve K

Thank you for your review of our lovely hotel, we delighted that you had a pleasant stay. Unfortunate that you could not experience the beach, we do have an issue, that due to the high tide being in the morning, we do lose a lot of the beach, however normally by afternoon you have a good 100 meters of beachfront. We have looked into your points regarding the housekeeping issues, and will find a way to rectify this matter.

Thank you for your comments about our team members service, which has been shared with them. We look forward to welcoming you back soon, and please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.

Enjoyed the hotel and facilities, great big pool, great kids club if your kids over 4 as then we could leave them there. Couple of hours there and there worked great for kids free time. Beach area nice with beds and lounges and restaurant. However beach accessibility as long as tides out.

Room Tip: Perfectly with hill side view for two adults and two kids under 5. Room rather on a smaller side how...

Thank you for your review, and we are delighted that you and your family had a pleasant stay. Your comments are our facilities are duly noted and shared amongst our team members.
I must say if you opt for the hillside room, ask for the rooms in building 2 next time, the built in day beds are much longer and room size slightly bigger.

Look forward to welcoming you back soon.
