The Bird is a better one among the other pier hotels of the city and definitely more exciting choice than a usual, chinese/thai-style hotel in the surroundings.
The staff is helpful but their travel information sometimes not entirely correct. The community space is average by layout and design but the sea view and the unusual calm atmosphere makes it extraordinary.
The rooms are big enough, generally clean, some comes with (sometimes badly-maintenanced and smelly) A/C, wifi (its operability is 50-50%), only cold (but not sooo cold :O)) water, mosquito screens, TV, expensive laundry service (10 THB / piece) etc.
Safe/locker is missing from the rooms and they not really tend to safeguard anything for you at the reception desk.
The walls are quite thin, as usual in Thailand but nevertheless I slept very well here. No problem with the restaurant next to the hotel, it closes relatively early.
Due to its central location Bird is a great place for a longer time for doing nothing :O)
With all its shortcomings I can recommend this place for those who like the more extraordinary things in life :O)More
