Its the perfect place 5min walk to the beach, great for families & they have a tuk tuk that can take u to town, night market. The restaurant was a little slow to get your food but overall was good. Will recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay near to the beach

Stay there one night and hotel very clean. Close to the beach. Bed very comfortable. Would go back for sure. Staff are giving a outstanding service as well. Big bathroom and very clean. The water at the beach is very warm and people are serving you drinks and food on the beach.

We stayed at the Escape Hua Hin Hotel at the first part of our trip to Hua Hin. The hotel is located very close to the center (+- 5 min Tuk Tuk drive, you can take the hotel's one way shuttle service for free) and within walking distance you can find various shops (amongst which a 7-Eleven shop for all your daily needs, and Market Village - a big mall).

The hotel does not extend directly to the beach, but you can use a small road - which in turn is connected to the hotel - that will take you there within the minute.

The hotel is quite small and the rooms are built around the beautiful pool, which creates a very intimate and cozy environment. Bar service is provided by the very friendly hotel staff, and includes some correct meals and snacks (nothing all to special, but ideal for when you have just arrived in Hua Hin and want a quick bite you can trust not lie heavy on your stomach the next day). To my opinion, drinks at the bar were a tad overpriced.

So generally speaking, I really enjoyed my stay at the Escape hotel and would definitely recommend it to others. Below some small remarks we had, which could also be used as pointers for the hotel, to even further improve their customer satisfaction;

- Seriously guys, even though the hotel staff was very friendly, helpful and numerous (at times there were over 5 people at the reception desk); it would really not hurt to learn a little more English ;). Most times it took us a little too long to explain our needs to the five of you.. But again, compliments to the staff on other grounds such as friendliness and always being there for us.

- I personally found the breakfast to be satisfactory, but there were some people of our group who would have liked to see a little more variation.

- The doors to the rooms.. maybe a strange remark, but they were 2 folded and one side had to stay permanently closed (otherwise you could break into a locked room by ramming the door). Entering trough the other side proved a little narrowly for some of us ;)

I gave the place two stars because of the very very nice staff and quite nice rooms and a great breakfast buffet next to the pool to 11am. And the price was right.

I took away three stars because:

1. They failed to provide a room with two beds as requested in my Expedia booking. They say it's the agent's problem not theirs. I say they shouldn't offer the room choices and that they don't read the booking emails. When pressed they found the two bedder.

2. The resort is next to a major highway and very noisy. Hence the lower room price. So this is not a "complaint" but just bringing it the attention of potential guests.

3. In our room the hand basin didn't drain and the cistern leaked. There are no room door bells.

4. I found out later that the "do not disturb" sign was tucked away in the laundry bag. There is no chain lock or similar on the door. Consequently at 10.30 at night two staff came wandering into our room to place complimentary drinks on the table! They apparently did knock but we were sleeping. I am not sure who got the biggest shock?

5. On the third day someone decided to turn up the volume of the poolside music. Terrible. It is LOUD. It echoes all over the resort and into your room. But I guess it drowned out the traffic noise.

Summary

There are many, many better places to stay in at Hua Hin. (And a lot of these are beachside.)

I extended my Hua Hin stay for a few days but voted on Escape Hua Hin with my feet and changed hotels.

Room Tip: Poolside ground floor are best.
