Just returned from a fabulous 12 nights in Russell's lovely villa. It's really well situated for getting around, the Songthaew runs up and down Soi 94 just around the corner. There are bars and good restaurants a short walk ( our favourite was Oy) there is a well stocked small supermarket,also it's an easy 10 walk to the beach. There is a big mall -Market village with a bigger tesco if you want, maybe a 15 minute walk but a taxi or Songthaew cost little. Having said all that, the area around the villa is really quiet and we mostly enjoyed lazing by the pool every day.
The villa is very well equipped and spotlessly clean, Russell was a fantastic 'landlord' and made himself available by email, phone etc ( great wifi in villa)
Electric and water is payable, he estimated for us at 2500-3000 baht but we were less than that.
The 'nearly' in perfect comes from the telly- sad I know! the channels were poor and anticipating this I'd brought films on a hard drive to run to the telly from my tablet, but the TV didnt have a hdmi port ( or a scart). I'm not complaining, just passing on information, that's the point of trip advisor! There was a DVD player but no DVD's ( I'm not sure what region it would play either)
Anyway- we had the best time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend or return.

We loved the peaceful location, yet it was only 10 minutes to walk to the beach, little supermarket and several restaurants. Russel was really helpful - everything was arranged by him: local phone, taxi, transfers to the airport, tips for sightseeing ect. Very good restaurant "94" nearby. Good wifi. Highly recommended villa, we probably be back once!

Really enjoyed our relaxing stay at Villa Lucy. Russell arranged our airport transfers, which went smoothly. The villa has everything we required and the pool is great to cool off in. The villa impressed us on arrival, with it's Thai wall hangings and ornaments. The living area is well laid out, with a large dining table, lounge suite and small bar area. We were glad that the hob is located outside to reduce the heat impact of making breakfast (our choice, but plenty of local places serve breakfast). The cooker and microwave in the kitchen mean we had the facility to cook dinner, but we ate out every night (local restaurants will do take out food if you want to eat in the villa). Also useful are the dishwasher and washing machine (meant we could wash towels and anything not requiring ironing). Russell can arrange for the villa to be cleaned and laundry done.
A local taxi firm gave us a mobile phone on arrival, which we used to call them to arrange transport (much better than renting a car). Very useful for shopping and nights out and very reliable.
Villa Lucy is in a relatively quiet location, just a short walk from local bars and restaurants. There are a few roadside stalls selling freshly cooked food and fruit, which is aimed at the locals, with tourists welcome as well. Many locals speak very little english, but a little patience is rewarded by good Thai service.
Overall, a home from home, with better weather at this time of year and everything else which comes with a stay in Thailand.
