Nicely kept hotel, good clean rooms, quiet location yet near where you want to see. Available parking, bakery with good breakfast practically next door. Less than 10 minute walk to the nightlife, and not far from the beach as well.

Thipurai City Hotel is located on a quiet side street about 5 minutes walk from Hua Hin's main beach. It is also walking distance to the night market and there are loads of pubs, restaurants and massage shops nearby. It would be better to be right on the beach, but you'd need to pay several times more for the room than here for that privilege.

The hotel itself is a fairly unremarkable building, but everything was clean and comfortable. The room is a bit sparse, but again clean and everything worked. There's a TV, fridge, decent shower in the bathroom and basically most things you need to crash for a few nights. A rather noisy air conditioning unit was the only real negative aspect of the room.

We had a room-only deal, no breakfast so can't comment on the hotel's food. The staff were friendly, helpful and informative when we asked questions about Hua Hin and the surrounding area.

Overall Thipurai City Hotel is a good value, no-frills hotel. Not somewhere to much more than sleep in at the end of the day, but for that purpose it's fine.

Room Tip: Check the A/C unit noise levels before confirming your room

I'm the friend of SamGreenwoodOslo, and I'll have to second what he said about the unfortunate happenings that led to a bad start of our vacation.

When we arrived, it turned out that because of a "change of routines" there was a misunderstanding between Booking.com and Thipurai City Hotel. Therefore, we stood there with our papers clearly saying "pre-paid", and thought it actually would've been just that -- pre-paid ...

Instead, the staff explained to us that nothing had been paid and if we wanted our rooms ,we had to pay the 9,900 THB, which basically was half of our pocket money for this trip.

The following days we wished to settle this argument with some sort of a manager because of the fact that no one in the reception could speak decent english -- but according to the receptionists we spoke to they either didn't know who their manager was, or they knew who it was but didn't know when he/she would be back.

After asking a couple of times, we gave up, and tried to make the best out of our vacation. It has to be pointed out though, that not one time during our stay at Thipurai City Hotel the same people we had contact with while checking in didn't even smile at us.

Somehow, it made us feel like it was our fault all this had happened. On top of that it has to be pointed out that we were only lucky having family and friends who could help us out with our travel budget after we had to pay half of it for the hotel cost. Imagine if we wouldn't have been that lucky ... Perhaps we would've been left there on the street without a room, even though we booked in a couple of weeks in advance of our trip!!!

The sunshine in this dark episode of our vacation is the maid at Thipurai City Hotel, who was absolutely fabulous. Not only did she create some amazing things with a couple of towels, she did always greet us with a smile and a hello -- which is more than what I can say about the people in the reception unfortunately ...

There wasn't anything with the hotel it self, but if you'll get in trouble -- don't count on getting any help at all from the staff.

My friend and I arrived to find out that our bookings had not been pre-paid as they were supposed to be. Trying to get this sorted out with the reception staff was close to impossible as their level of English was very poor. It was also impossible to locate the manager (we asked 5 times during 9 nights stay) and manager or staff seemed unwilling to help. The standard of the room (standard double) was ok, but very worn and used. The maids were brilliant and made fantastic little character creations with the towels when making up the room each day. They were the only real plus overall, alongside with a nice pool and decent hotel food from the adjacent Prime Steakhouse. The location was also good if you want to be close to the nightlife. The price was indeed very low, but you expect a certain level of service and to get understood in English, but this wasn't so, unfortunately.

Room Tip: Choose the larger rooms if available. Make sure booking is pre-paid before travelling if using onlin...

Stayed here for 6 nights. Bed very comfortable, but bathroom in need of attention. Tiles cracked, although clean it looked a bit grubby, more of a wet room.

We were on the third floor, very quiet apart from the bell in the temple ringing at sunrise (5am) and sunset.

Lovely touch from room service was the towels folded in different shapes every day, elephants, swans, etc. Clean towels every day, room cleaned every day.

The hotel is bang in the middle of Hua Hin so no need for Tuk Tuks.

Quick and efficient check in. Friendly reception staff.

Breakfast a bit of a let down compared to other hotels in Asia. Not worth the 200 baht charged. Better in Lucky's, out of hotel and turn left. We were surprised to find the hotel does not have a restaurant you can charge meals to. The grill room is open for breakfast but does not seem to be part of the hotel for evening meals. Lots of restaurants and bars close by.

Mini bar well stocked and surprisingly cheap. Complimentary water supplied daily.

The pool is on the 5th floor. Small but quite nice, although it could do with being cleaned regularly, quite sandy on the bottom. Pool towels are supplied.

Lifts are quite slow, only one lift for both staff and guests.

Overall a pleasant stay, good value for money.

Good hotel and location. Everything works, central but quiet and relaxing soi, restaurants & motorbike rental opposite the hotel, smiling service. I had a junior suite which is large and comfortable, not luxury but homey.I experienced nothing to complain about.

The Thipurai is excellent value, right in the middle of Hua Hin and about 3minutes walk to the beach.
Friendly staff and clean rooms with nothing too much trouble.
Is located in a small Soi (street) so no issue with traffic noise.

Room Tip: Have stayed on different floors and found all to be similar..
