My family and i stayed at this hotel last year. Sorry for the late review. The hotel is run by a German gentleman and his Thia wife. Very nice peole and it seemed most of the staff had a close cohesiveness about themselves. Breakfast was simple and did its job. It was not buffet but you could order eggs any way you liked 'em. There was a pc with free internet in the open area just besides the breakfast place. I remmeber taking advantae of that. Rooms were huge. View from the room overlooking the pool was great. Room service was good too. My kids went nuts ordring chicken satay all day. Location is another story. You had to take a long narrow street from the main road leading up to the hotel. At night it was a bit uncomfortable waling back as there were not enough street lamps. Besides, a lot of construction going around. To be fair, they are probably all completed by now.
Beach is not close but a 10-14 minute walk. But that part of the beach was not clean. We had to walk up another 15/20 mins to find the place to settle down. My kids went on horse back riding. One pleasant surprise was the Hua Hin Market Mall (i could be wrong with the exact name ). Very modern and a great gateway from the thai heat. There is a Sizzlers there which we freqented twice as well as other fast food joints.....swensons, codffee shops. a lot of local and ethnic goods on display if you are into that sort of things as we are.
Hua Hin as a town, is very relaxed and laid back. But probably worth visiting once if not more. Next trip KRABI !

My wife and I have been traveling around SE Asia for >2 months and can honestly report that this accommodation represents the best value for money of any we have stayed at in the region (1,100Baht per night - low season). We booked for one night, extended to three and then extended to five.....say no more!!!

Our room was large; we only stayed in a standard room. The aircon works well and, being on the second floor, we had a balcony that was a good size. Note: all rooms overlook the pool, which is also a really good size considering the number of rooms (there is also a small shallow children's pool). The bathroom was an adequate size with an open style shower which is common across Asia. This was however built in a very nice way and was attractive. It was also designed so you do not slip (if only other hotels/ guest houses did this). The bed was extremely comfortable (this cannot be overstated) and can be considered a large double. You have a TV (about 28 inches) and DVD player. For those who do not want to venture into town, there are DVDs for use and books to borrow that are both free for guests (most of the latter are in German though).

Breakfast was good with a few options to choose from although not the best we have had but still more than adequate. The hotel also has flexibility. For example, we stayed in the room until 10:50am one morning and came down to be asked if we wanted breakfast!!! Breakfast is suppose to close at 10:30am. We stayed for dinner one night and whilst not the most romantic of settings, the food cannot be faulted. The chicken satay and massaman curry were divine

The hotel is very clean and has extremely friendly staff. Although it is not in the middle of town, a tuk-tuk will only set you back ca.100baht (about 2 pounds). Opposite the hotel is a nice coffee shop called Coffee 77. We went there on more than one occasion.

Possible improvements to the accommodation - A safety deposit box in the room (we didn't have one in the standard room). Perhaps some subdued lighting for dinner to make the experience more romantic.

Other than the suggested improvements, the hotel/ services apartments certainly hit the spot. I wouldn't bother paying more for one of the larger chains as this gives you what you need for considerably less money.

Looking for something a little different? This is one place for you. The Prinz garden villa is a family owned and managed hotel situated less than a couple of Km from the center of Hua Hin. It is a lovely construction, surrounded by a beautiful lush garden. The swimming pool area is partly shaded by the vegetation and you can enjoy different species of tropical flowers and plants. The hotel is very quiet but not deserted as there is always someone (owners or workers) doing something or chattering, which gives a place a real family feeling about it
The hotel offers free internet access at a very good speed too. The breakfast is not huge but reasonable. You will have fresh bread rolls every morning from the German bakery around the corner. Last but not least, the coffee is really good.
The hotel has a little restaurant that offers a variety of dishes at very competitive prices (not the usual ridiculously overpriced hotels menus). To date, I have checked out several hotels and stayed in at least two in Hua Hin and I must say the Prinz gardens is, at least to me, the one that offers the best value for money. The only down side are the curtains. It is totally impossible to sleep after dawn, as the room gets really too bright. But as they say ‘an early bird always catches the worm’… so go fetch then….

One of the most friendliest hotels my wife and myself have ever stayed in,the rooms are very large and spotlessly clean, towels and bedding are changed every other day, more often if you require, the staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to ensure your stay is a most enjoyable experience.Whilst there it was our anniversary and i asked if it would be possible to have 37 red roses put in our room when we got back from the beach,on our return my wife was in tears at the most beautiful bouquet of red roses we have seen, nothing is to much trouble you only have to ask and they will try and meet your request. The day of our departure which was 6-30 in the morning the owner got to make sure that our taxi, which she had organised arrived on time which it did,she also sent us on our way with sandwiches and drinks for our journey back to Bangkok. When we go back to Hua-Hin there is only one place we will want to stay and that is The PRINZ-GARDEN-VILLA.

Originally booked 4 nights, stayed 5. Very friendly hotel. Ideal for families and also has good wheelchair access. Staff and food great! It is about a 15 min walk 100 baht tuk tuk ride into town but means its very peaceful. Cracking beach a short walk away, but it's across a fairly busy road. If it was on the beach side you'd probably pay a lot more. If you fancy a change from Thai food, try Lin's Cafe just outside of town. Great value roast dinners. If your catching the bus to Chumphon for ferry, get it across the road opposite nearby bus station, outside shops. Take no notice of staff in station who sent us into town centre, listen to the coach drivers instead!!

We stayed here over New Year 2010. The room on the second level was light, bright and airy. It was spacious and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was also large. It felt like we were on summer vacation (aussies will know what I mean).

There are about 12 or so villas facing south-east , all overlooking the large freeform pool and garden. The owners (with 4 kids) live onsite and are very friendly, as are the staff, whom we got to know over the four days we stayed. The food from the restaurant was of a good standard and there is free internet access.

The villas are easy to find, being about 200M up a Soi off the main road through Hua Hin. The beach is an easy 10 minutes walk and we went every morning for a walk. There is a shopping mall with most just about everything about a kilometre or so down the main road. 10Baht by Song Teaw or a easy 15 min walk.

We celebrated in the New Year with the Prinz family and other guests at a nearby restaurant. It was a BBQ and the usual Thai delights for about 400Bht.

I would recommend the hotel for couples and families. We will certainly be going back to stay again. It was great value for money.
