Excellent hotel. Staff are extremely attentive, polite and welcoming. Super breakfast and grounds but too many mosquitos and selfish guests who get up at 5am to grab sun loungers before anyone else.

Our room over-looked the pool and had a jacuzzi / plunge pool on the balcony. The room was spacious, clean and had a very comfortable bed. Wi-Fi was free and fast and accessible from most areas of the hotel.

The bathroom was modern, large and clean but the doors "surrounding" the bathroom section were sliding doors which could be slid open to reveal the bathroom. The sliding doors did not lock and the toilet and shower were separate glass cubicles with smokey glass panels meaning anyone else could walk in and see what you were up to. Not an issue for couples who know what the other person is up to, but if you have young kids and are sitting on the toilet, they can slide open the doors and there you are, on full view. It's a small issue but I like my privacy when using bathroom.

Jacuzzi / plunge pool was clean and large enough for 3 to 4 adults and there was a large, round, sun-lounger for a couple to curl up on and snooze on.

The hotel has a large pool but the tiles are dark making the water look dark and more like a large fish pond than a swimming pool. I like my swimming pool to be light blue and inviting but this one is dark and cold looking. It is clean and very well attended so there is no issue with using it, it just doesn't look as inviting as other swimming pools. In December, when we were there, it was windy and cool and so we did not use the pool and neither did most of the other guests.

There is also a smaller, shallow kids pool next to the main pool but we'd not consider this to be a child friendly hotel - at least not for young kids.

The hotel is divided into two sections - the main hotel area and then the private chalets area. Both are next to each other but the private chalets have a separate main pool and each chalet opens onto that main pool. There is also a private beach area which is a man-made beach set into the grounds rather than being part of the actual beach. The sand on this "beach" is cleaned and raked daily.

The grounds are very well attended and everything is very well presented and clean. Staff are very polite and make you feel special and very welcome. nothing is too much trouble.

There is no real beach to speak of as the tide does not go out that much in this part of Hua Hin. There are steps that lead down to the beach but don't expect to be able to lounge on the beach. Keep this for the hotel grounds.

A negative of the hotel is that there is a lot of stagnant water as part of the hotel's water features. This water attracts large numbers of mosquitos and unless you are covered in Deet, you'll be eaten to death in the evenings. By 5 pm, we had to head in-doors to escape them and we had to call house-keeping to borrow mosquito spray and plug-in repellents.

Hua Hin also has sand flies which can cause nasty reactions. I got bitten a month ago and I am still having to apply anti-biotic cream to stop the itching.... not much you can do about this. Some people will have a reaction, others won't but for me, these bites really spoiled things for me as I had to be sure to cover myself in repellent before venturing out at night.

There is not much in the area and Hua Hin is a short drive away but the hotel provides a good shuttle service to and from town but you have to book your seat which is free.

The only thing that spoiled this trip was a group of 4 Brits who sent one of them out to the pool area at about 5am every morning to "reserve" 4 sun loungers. The chap who did this draped towels over each lounger and then went back to bed. They didn't use the loungers until a lot later on so they stopped anyone else from using them. These loungers faced the sun and all they did all day was lounge in the sun leaving only a few left in the sun while the other loungers remained in the shade on the other side of the pool.

This is a very selfish way to behave and a number of hotels are now stopping guests from reserving loungers in this manner.

If you want to use a lounger, use it. Don't grab it first thing in the morning and then disappear for 4 hours before using it.

If you were at the hotel around the 16 to 20th of December, 2013 and were reserving the loungers in this way, please stop being so selfish. Oh, and hugging staff and being "buddy, buddy" with them makes you look like a prat in their eyes. Thais don't hug and certainly don't want to hug customers.

Bottom line: Great hotel, excellent staff, decent facilities and I'd certainly recommend it and will be staying again - as long as those selfish Brits aren't there.

This is a lovely hotel to stay in Hua Hin. We stayed 23 nights and were treated so well by every member of staff. We had a Rest Green room which was beautiful with a shower you will not forget!
The breakfast was great with a good choice of food and nothing was too much trouble if you wanted anything extra. We were so lucky to stay there when the King's fireworks display was on as this hotel was in the best place for display - we had a lovely meal that night, the food was 5 star and the staff worked so hard to keep everyone happy. The hotel is small and family run and that's what makes it special. It has a free shuttle to the town many times a day which is a big help. We have booked for this year already and cannot wait to return and see all the staff again :) If you want a great hotel then book this one, you will love it and the staff. Special thanks to Two from the restaurant and the lovely girls on the front desk.

Room Tip: All the rooms are very nice

The hotel does't have a huge lobby as 5 stars, and with few sofa simple and desks but the first feeling is cozy as home. Room is as well, simple wth chic colorful and the room size is not small. But my room is rest spirt and it is without bathtub, and I can't tell whats different between the standard room "rest green" and "rest spirt", coz from my balcony of "rest spirt" I have turn my head to right then have my sea view..... very funny... Everything is good here, relax, and cozy here, and stuff wears three monkeys uniform are very cute, also they are all very helpful and smiling. The pool is large enough, I have a good time at the pool. And the day we came is Thai holiday "loy krathong", so hotel also prepare the krathong for us, what a great expreience for us and join with other Thai people to put krathong and pray. ^^
The location is not near any where but you can have their free shuttle van to go or ask they to call driver for you.

Room Tip: Sorry, but I don't think too much differance between rest green and rest spirt, so if you want a...

Rest Detail is one of the best hotels I've stayed at. The Rest Horizon room has its own jacuzzi in the balcony with a big round day bed (great for a leisure afternoon snooze). The room was clean and spacious, with simple decors accentuates the relaxing ambiance. Daily buffet breakfast was included with a good selection of western and eastern food (waffles, pancakes and dim sum all in one seating).

Multiple shuttles from hotel to downtown provides a cheap and easy way to get out and experience the local scene. There are a few markets with shopping, restaurants and bars all within walking distance of the Clock Tower drop off.

Staff was friendly and helpful even before we arrived, helping out with our lost taxi driver through the phone and offered the spa for us to shower when they couldn't provide a late check out due to full occupancy (our car pick up was at 3pm but check-out was at 12:30).

The only downside to the resort was that it doesn't have a gym (holiday guilt) and the jacuzzi was not heated. The water was too cold at night in December.

Thanks for the wonderful experience and I will definitely come back if I am ever in Hua Hin again :)

Room Tip: The Rest Horizon room on the 4th floor over looking the pool and ocean is definitely the way to go.

We liked this hotel very much. Though a bit at the outskirts north of the city centre, this is the hotel we surely want to visit again. Hotel offers spacious rooms, a splendid pool, relaxed atmosphere. A 7-Eleven at the main road close by, a hotel shuttle to go to the city and back or , the green (green! don't take the white ones from the city) ) shared taxi's (song tao) from the main road. Very pleasant staff, abundant breakfast, lunch, dinner, free wifi. If you are a veggie, have a talk to the management and make dinner arrangement. No problem. And at bearkfast do not miss the Thai coffee.
Fine hotel indeed.

Room Tip: We had a green room, the one with the lowest price, I think. Great, spacious room with balcony, su...

Spent a fabulous week at Rest Detail in Hua Hin and would thoroughly recommend! The photos on trip advisor don't even do this hotel justice. Modern, chic, extremely well thought out hotel. Staff were very helpful, room was large, bed was very comfortable, breakfast offered fantastic choice and even poolside food and drinks were good value. Overall, a brilliant trip, made by being able to come back to such a lovely hotel each day. Thank you so much.
